The bumper looks awesome Mike, This might be a stupid question, but what exactly is the Jig that your using to hold the peices in place when you braze? This has been the one thing holding me back from trying it out, I havent been sure what to get to hold the parts together. Keep up the good work, your giving me more and more ideas for my bronco! ;-) **edit** nevermind, I used the SEARCH BUTTON and found out exactly what you meant by third hand, Thanks for the idea! |

Started on some door panels tonight... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco074.jpg I then went on to the Wild Horse site to see how the panels look and saw these http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product...et/Door_Panels So I added that to mine http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco076.jpg The I made the door panel based off the this http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product...at/Door_Panels http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco073.jpg I think I may have angled them a lil bit to much :???: but thats alright lastly for the night, the window cranks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco075.jpg More to come "thumbsup" |

looking great as usual! |
Oh no not door panels. Bmuzz that body is nice, dont sell yourself short before you even begin. |
Well I lost one of my window cranks I made  so I was irritated and didnt feel like working on the door panels then, so instead, I decided to finish off the front bumper 1st order of business was to take apart my Juggsterr winch, and get it painted up http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../baller002.jpg after some paint http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco077.jpg The using some fishing line from walmart, I started to work on getting the winch barrel wrapped up with some line. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco078.jpg Cool thing about this stuff is, that its strong and can be used for line if I decided to make the winch functional down the road. I put a small dab of tire CA and started wrapping it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco079.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco080.jpg After I got a descent amount on, I hit with some testors aluminum silver paint, its gives it the perfect look http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco081.jpg After that I was able to put it all back together http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco084.jpg I used a hook from garden trucking's website (http://www.gardentrucking.com/produc...esort=1&max=10) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco085.jpg I mounted my control box by making a small "L" shape bracket off of the end of the winch http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco089.jpg I also drilled a small hole and put a small piece of steel rod in as a engage/disengage lever http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco087.jpg All said and done... it looks badass  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco088.jpg |
Looks SWEET Mike- Great job on the detail work..!!!!"thumbsup" I gotta get me one of those winches.., those look SO cool..!!! |
Mike, you spelled budget wrong in this instance it's I N T R I C A T E  |
Thats amazing! I think I will have to start a scaler build..... This is such a cool looking truck, I cant get over it! How much do you have into this thing minus the elec's? |
Well its been a while since I have been able to work on this, I went from having NO job to 2 jobs  working 56+ hours a week... so time has been limited. I wanted to get going on this interior, so I mounted up some TLT servo mount post to serve as brackets http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco090.jpg I then cut some pieces of .060 thick styrene and bolted it on to the servo mounts, sat the seats on them for a quick mock up http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco093.jpg Then got some paint on them http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco097.jpg While the paint dried, I detailed my door panels that I made http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco096.jpg here is a peak through the window, unfortunately you dont see my diamond plate kicker panels but they are there http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco101.jpg I also finally got a chance to install my new goodies from The Crawler Store. I got some RC4wd straight axles adapters and shocks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco099.jpg I mounted the shocks in board this time around http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco100.jpg Also got some Hot Racing Cs and Knuckles, really nice fit and finish on these. I love how they went back and milled down the sharp edges after the anodizing. The also come with cool covers to hid the bolts but they were green and I didnt feel like stripping them so I left them off for now http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco102.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco103.jpg I also figured out the issue behind the rc4wd shocks "sticking" as some may have experienced. I took the shocks apart and actually found that there are 2 different size O-rings and one is to small (in my opinion) and appears to be causing the sticking... my solution is the following Remove shock ball end and shock body lower cap. Also remove the top cap and spring http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco104.jpg Remove the 1st O-ring and youll see there is a plastic bushing inside the shock body http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco105.jpg Youll then reveal the 2nd O-ring, this is the one that seems to be to small and is causing to tight of a fit which leads to the shock piston 'sticking' occasionally http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco106.jpg In this pic, you can clearly see the size difference http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco107.jpg Now, take the larger O-ring, and put that back in the shock body 1st, followed by the spacer and LEAVE OUT the 2nd O-ring that has a smaller ID. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco108.jpg Once back together youll notice the shock returns and moves so much more freely then before. I cant guarantee it will hold oil, but Im not concerned with that anyways since I am using the internal spring Lastly, I used a traxxas rod end on the shocks. The stock ones dont seem to have enough material milled away around the ball carrier end itself and the ball doesnt protrude far enough out then to allow the shock end to rotate and twist around as necessary. With the Traxxas rod ends it has a lot better movement. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Bronco109.jpg Well thats it for now, more to come "thumbsup" |
What is the difference between the grease in the kit and heavy white lithium grease? |
What length of shocks did you get? |
