Un sensored brushless is shit for crawling or trailing. It cogs and jumps but once it's going it's fun

I'm looking to more then less bashing mine so crawling really isn't an issue for me. Cool thanks.

I stuffed my Castle SCT into mine for a laugh, 14t pinion made it fun in the woods and mud but since I crawl more than splash around I went back to a 55 turn brushed . I've had good luck with a V in the older AX series rigs and in my Honcho. If you gear low enough you can cancel out some of the cogging... have fun

Ended up just canceling my order and sticking with the 20t brushed for now. If she goes out on me, might have to order again. if anyone does have this system in there rig please post it up here.

Lastnight I ended up changing my mind once again. Ordered the velineon 3500 system again but this time I added a 54T spur gear and a 14T pinion gear that are 32 pitch to handle the brushless power.

I looked at the mamba maxx pro also but for some reason, I wanted to try this waterproof system first.

Once shes all together, I'll post a couple vids.

I run 32P 54/14 gears with the velineon 3500 system in my wraith. No complaints. You can't beat the price, warranty and the fact that they are waterproof.

My velinion 3500 cogs like crazy and likes high rpm....it would be my last choice for my ridgcrest. I havehad great results with various brushed motors (yes im old school...grew up with brushes and comms). Geez I still got a comm cutter on my bench. Hahaa. Seriously though I cant see how a ridgecrest can handle any more rpm than the 20T it comes with....unless the diffs are unlocked but then it wont crawl worth a stink.

Ya I get what your saying. Thats why I have new gears on the way. I don't do much crawling at all so the higher rpm will be perfect for me. Best part of the ridgecrest is that it can do whatever you want it to do. Basher, crawler whatever. Just change gears to suit you best.

might do better with a tiny pinion gear to help minimize cogging.

Ya might gear it down a bit. One issue that I have found is that the shaft on the new motor is a bit longer and will not allow the spur/tranny cover to protect the gears. I put a hole where the shaft hits but then the pinion gear hits.

Is there an aftermarket cover that is a bit longer to allow for this?

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket tranny cover for the spur and pinion?

Any help would be great.

BTW, pics coming soon

Default Traxxas velineon 3500

Sorry for the long wait. I was able to get out today with my friend and his family to get a quick pic and couple videos. My buddy is running his t-max in the backround.

Enjoy
