Default Should I wait for the Kit Version or build it from the axles??

I have been hearing a lot of upgrades and I replacementes that you need to apply to make it better etc, so I dont no what is better... Because I think is like every Axial is gonna end being just the axles and a lot of upgrades so...

Buy the RTR and waste like $300 dollars and through away the electronics???
or
Built it????

Build it ! Thats my opinion. You will ultimately spend more money on upgrades. If you have experience, Build it my friend.

I would start with housings myself. If you are going for it, that is how I do it. My current Build "PHANTASMAGORIA" by DRV KRAWLER all I purchased to begin with was two axle housings. Second purchase for the build was Beef Tubes.

The main problem with the kit is waiting. Also, the kit will not have alum shock bodies, bead locks, better upper links, or better steering links.
(I'm just comparing it to the Wraith kit)

I just got a RTR and Universals.
My initial cost was $310 shipped + $30 for universals = Total - $340
Sooo, $340 -$125(sold parts) = $215.

SOLD LIST
ESC - $50
Servo - $15
Motor - $10
Wheels/tires - $30
Shocks - $20
Body - Nobody wants to buy it!

But I really LIKE DVR's idea. Just buy the parts you want and do a scratch build.

To be honest buying a rtr or a kit is a major waist of time and money, by the time you remove and replace everything it's a pain. Very very soon somebody else will buy one for the axle and the rest will be on the forum for sale, I was toying with the idea of a wraith and found that smart shopping I too can have one of those 7 or 800 dollar rigs for 300 to 400 hundred all dressed up. Also there is the wonderful world of eBay that some hobby shop is parting out rigs to make a buck and has some pretty sweet deals on parts and pieces. Probably get flamed by the fanboys but hey it is what it is.

Do vanquish housing will make a differance or I stick to the cheaper axial ones??

I know they are expensive but if they improve the drive maybe I can buy them..

Also what do beef tubes do?? are they for performance or cuality...for what do people use them???

Sorry I am kind of a noob

I used the stock plastic axle housings and beefed them with Beef Tubes. If you deside to build off of the Vanquish housings. Beef tubes will not be needed. To be honest I don't know if the Beef Tubes would even fit in the Vanquish housings.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Vanquish axle housings. But at a extra $60.00 per housing would have slowed down my build quite a bit. I am very confident with the Beef tube reinforced axle housings I have presently.
