| R7av7en7's Ridgecrest
Alright guys, not nearly as impressive as Chud's build but I wanted to show off a little anyway. Got the ridgecrest a month or so ago, followed Bender's build fairly closely with a few changes. Here it is as it sits right now. Not really sure what the body is from, the LHS had it, someone locally did the airbrushing. Went with Vanquish for the C-Hubs, Knuckles and steering and a savox high voltage servo. Got the 106mm links and axial high clearance links. Axial Machined link mounts on both axles Naturally I swapped the battery and electronics position XR10 rims with HB Rover (White) Tires Came down to an 18 tooth pinion, mostly for heat reasons, that little motor can get pretty warm. Body will most likely wind up lowered, kinda looks like a jacked up monster truck right now lol. So far I'm loving it, this is my first crawler. Future upgrades include weights for the wheels, BEC is on it's way and I'm still trying to decide on a motor, will be higher turn just don't know how high. Nothing special right now but I thought I would share Last edited by r7av7en7; 06-30-2012 at 10:32 PM. |

Looks like one of the Jeep bodies made by RJ Speed, I was looking to get one of those for my Ridge also...

R7av7en7, why go to a lower turn motor? Going to higher turn will make crawling easier, cooler and more runtime. I got a 35T in my ridgecrest and love it for the rocks.

| Re: R7av7en7's Ridgecrest Well, I said that totally backwards, that is what I meant, a higher turn, lower speed motor lol. Regardless, I'm enjoying crawling so much I ordered an XR10 kit today with all the goodies to get it going. I might be getting rid of the ridgecrest, haven't decided yet.
