Default Norwegian Deadbolt

I had some parts left after my 3 Axial Wraith projects, so i bought a AX chassie and started building With my son. Now it got Axial Wraith axles moded With parts from vanquish and beef tubes. Pitbull tires on Axial wheels, Mips and vanquish links. Gearbox is a vanquish alu house with Robinson racing gears inside. Power comes from Holmes hobbies BRXL and tekin HD 35 turn motor, and for turning a waterproof Savox servo . We are waiting for the Deadbolt body befor we can have some fun. I think this will be a step up for my son, from a 1.9 Honcho to a 2.2 AX.

It's very cool that you include your son in your hobby time! I do the same and we have such a great time beating the mess out of these things at the local spots!

Lookin good

I was going on a easter longtrail with my sons AX to test it out, and the rig worked great!!! I switch out the brushed motor with a brushless combo and had some fun with it. It climbed great and had some speed for messing around in the mud. The fun lastet about 500 meters when it suddenly whent from 4wd to rear wheel drive. Itt was the front axle that was the problem. I opened it today, and found the inner bearing for the bevel gear in Peaces. It was a brand new set of bearings in the axle.

Now the front is rebuild With New gearing and bearings. I had the dragbreak on 100%, so the rig did frontflips when I let go of the throttle. Now the dragbreak is on 30%.

Got some parts today, alu skid plate and alu shock tower brace. The chassies is very soft, so the shock tower brace was a super mod. I also did set the dragbrake to 10 %.

My son had some fun with his Deadbolt. We have moved the battery down and change the shock setup on the front. I love how this thing Works, and I had to work with my Wraith to follow him.

I like how these tires Works, alot of grip on dirt and Works ok on the rocks. Strippet the spur gear yesterday, and today my son played in the mud and burned the motor.

This one is going from a AX to a Wraith. My oldest son wants a Wraith, and I got all the parts, but I need the axles from the Deadbolt. The deadbolt will be reborn again.

Now the Deadbolt looks like this. But New Axles, gearbox and links are on the way, so the deadbolt will be reborn again.

The mud bashers are ready for more mud, but I am still waiting for some parts. I am going to try something that I have never seen on a AX. Update is coming as soon as I got the parts.

Finally I had some parts to start rebuilding the the AX Deadbolt for my 8 year old son. I wanted to stretch the wheelbase, and found out that the Yeti trailingarms is longer then the stock links. So I bought 2 sets of the stock plastic Yeti arms and links, and some stock axles. The traling arms and link was a direct fit to the AX chassie and axles. So the stock wheelbase is 310 mm, and my Deadbolt is now 345 mm. I am still waiting for some axle alu upgrades, gearbox, and a Tekin 35 turn HD motor. I love how the setup looks now and cant wait to trie it out.

Why did you want a longer wheelbase? It will make you high center more during crawling. Although it seems like you are "bashing" more than crawling, so maybe that's ok?

Hi Guys, since I stretched my Ridge to 343mm with a Wrath skid ( ala Harley Designs Wroncho ) its performence is 300% better, and no no more probs then the 310mm stock set-up with high centering, better then before, due to the longer wheelbase it really does climb better and tends to kinda Stretch over the rocks ( and dirt ) way better then before!!!!!!

But each to his own YOU have to enjoy the performence of your Rig, nobody else!!!! ooooooh dont Forget to Keep it low, that helps ALOT with sidehilling!!!
