Default AX10 Ridgecrest needs aluminum!

I just picked up a Ridgecrest and want to trick it out with some aluminum. It's not only a "bling" thing, but more to make the Ridgecrest feel more solid and substantial. There is way too much plastic for my taste

Does anyone know where I can buy a new aluminum chassis AND all of the much needed hop ups in one single kit? I saw that a Integy sells a complete kit for the Scorpion, but I didn't see for the Ridgecrest. I'd like to buy it all together just for the sake of ease, even if I pay a bit more.

Any helpful insight, suggestions and knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

As much as you'd like a "kit", try to avoid the Chinese made crap. Integy, Hot Racing etc.

STRC, Vanquish, MIP, and Axial aluminum parts are your best bet. Better to spend money once, then twice. You get what you pay for in this hobby.

Also, there really is no upside to an aluminum chassis. The AX10 plastic chassis is strong and light. Unless you want to upgrade to a custom carbon fiber or delrin chassis, stick with stock. Keep the weight of your rig down, you'll be better off for it.

Here ya go -
RC Accessories - Axial Wraith Parts - Stage One Kit - Vanquish Products

That's a kit worth buying.

I do agree with jessie, The AX10 chassis is good, there is axial chassis braces to stiffen the chassis.

Flash178... that is pure bling!

LOL.... I need to find a happy medium. I'm not in the market for a new truck, but if I were, I would definitely buy that kit.

Search "Axial High Clearance links"
And also "Axial Machined links"
Axial makes both upper and lower aluminum links for the wraith
that resemble the ones on it.

I have ordered a ton of GPM purple parts for my build, but I'm still undecided on what chassis I should get.

Can anyone tell me about this rock racer chassis? What advantage does it have over the standard Hot Racing aluminum upgrade chassis that looks similar to the stock one? Will everything I bought fit perfect with this chassis?

I've done some research and it appears that the rock racer chassis will work just fine with everything I bought. I also realize that there is not much love for Hot Racing, but I'm hoping a chassis from them would be decent.

I wonder if a body can be used over this chassis if I get bored with the look? Maybe a magnet system for holding the body on.

As luck would have it, my package came in today from Bizarre Hobby (via ebay).

Anyone else see something wrong with this picture.

^^ you have to be kidding!!

I have the standard HR chassis currently, and have had the rock racer in the past. No issues with either one at all. Fit and finish was fine. I did get both sides of the chassis in both cases. That's ridiculous.

The packaging was not damaged and did not appear to have been opened. As soon as I pulled the kit out of the bubble envelope, I knew there was a problem. I actually tried to convince myself that the two chassis plates were just stuck together, so I opened it up.

Yup....they only included one side in the package. This is definitely a first.

So far, no response from Bizarre Hobby. I'm hoping that I don't have to do a paypal claim. If they just send me the other half I'd be thrilled...lol.

Seller is non-responsive so now it goes to a paypal claim. I wouldn't recommend the ebay seller and these quality control issues make me worry about Hot Racing in general.

Well, it appears that I am not alone. There are discussion currently on Facebook with others that have ordered Hot Racing chassis kits that are missing parts. No one is missing an entire chassis plate like myself, but plenty off screws, rods, etc.

There is also a question as to what this is for? Where does it go? I checked my kit (the one I am sending back) and it also has this piece. Anybody have any idea what it is or where it goes?

Mine didnt have that piece, though mine was a first gen with the oval rear window. Have no idea where it would go.
