Default Weight question

What weight setup is best for overall general crawling?

Moving the battery up front?

Weighting the front wheels?

Weighting all 4 wheels?

Battery and wheel weights?

Leave the battery in the rear and weight the front wheels?

...so many options.

Experiment see what works best for YOU. Everyone has different driving styles and different terrains. The best setup is the one you drive the best.

I run the battery forward and 10oz of weight in each front wheel and 4oz in each rear wheel.

Hi, I personaly dont use wheel weights, in my axles are some homemade beef tubes made outta brass around 50-60 grams per axle, oh and my rims weight 90 grams per and that has worked for me, its like what was said before, you have to try till you find the best set-up for you. oh again, my batt is in the front but I use some little 2s lipos from hobby king!!!

Some things to consider.

a) The lower you can get your center of gravity, the better.

b) The more parts (mass) you can move from the chassi to the axles, the better. As them axles being heavy while chassi light, will make it hard to roll the car.

c) In theory, putting weight on the axles instead of inside the wheel is better because you don't have to spin the added wheel mass. If you don't have that option weighing the wheels is a good option.

c) Use your battery location wise. Instead of just thinking rear/front mounted you can go mounting the battery on the front axle. This gets it down nice and low. If you can't mount it on the front axle it can be good to counter the torque twist but mounting the battery on the side of the car that tilts up.

d) A good way to counter torque twist is to run the motor on the side that wants to lift. I done this by rotating the diffs front and rear and switched the polarity (+-cables) so the motor runs in the other direction. Not sure if all ax10 are built the same way but this had to be done on mine.
to the motor.

As an example, my motor sit on the passenger side. That side tilts up while on throttle. Now the torque twist has to lift the motor as well. Secondly, I'm making a servo/battery mount for the front axle that will put the battery on the passenger side. In climb where the right wheel would like to lift the battery mass will counter that behavior.

RCBros has weights that hangs on to a aluminium weight holder.
RcBros Two Ear Knuckle Weight Holder | RcBros Hobbies

Bluemonkeyrc has weights that attach directly to the knuckle.
Knuckle and Axle Weights, Blue Monkey RC

I have tried both and there good quality.

Crawler++ knows what he is talking about.

Strc makes an aluminum servo mount that you can fit a small lipo battery on as well. It will be tricky to mount it on the ar60 axles and have 3 mounting points, instead of 2. I am doing that mod for my dad, but im also trying to mount the servo under the mount. If i cant get that ill just mount the battery there and move the servo to the passenger side. Making the pumpkins passenger drop does help with torque twist. I did that to my dads. You can make room on your front axle to mount your electronics, or use something to mount them to your upper links in front.
