Default So uh anyway to slow this thing down? AX10 DB RTR

I bought an AX10 Deadbolt RTR and put a venom 5400mah 2S 20C in it.

The speed and throttle control is fine for me but its going to be to much if I want to let my kids learn and play with it. They are 3 and 6.

Is there anyway to limit the throttle on it, because I sure would like to let them play and not destroy it.

Program the throttle curve with a castle link if your running the ae2 esc. Or drop your pinion size down a few teeth

They come with a 20 turn motor stock. Can replace with a higher turn motor. Like a 35 turn or even a 55 turn.

Can you explain the castle link a little more?

I like this idea too. It's supposed to be a crawler. It doesn't need that kind of top end.

Buy a new radio with Throttle end points.
Then turn the end points down. That will limit the trigger to
0-100%
So say you turn it down half way.
then the squeezing the trigger all the way will give you %50 throttle.
Tuen it down more you get 25% ect ect.

That would be the easiest way to go from fast to slow without taking it all apart.

Also sounds like the most expensive. I picked up a 35T motor, I'll start there and then re gear if needed. I will keep the different TX in mind for future builds though.

Added the same motor. Novak 35t. Excellent speed for crawling and my kids. I'm happy!

Don't replace the motor unless gearing-down isn't good enough. Gearing-down converts the motor's power into torque, which is useful when crawling, whereas a higher-turn motor has higher electrical resistance, thus lower power throughput, thus it's a weaker motor overall -- which *isn't* useful when crawling. The sole exception is if you keep cooking lower-turn motors even with the lowest gearing you can get -- then you really do need a higher-turn motor.
