Default new front axles for ax10 deadbolt I have some questions

Hi all, I saw these hot racing cvds: Hot Racing SWRA288XD03 Extra Duty Steel CVD Shafts Axial Ridgecrest / Wraith | eBay

they are fully rebuildable as in this: Hot Racing SWRA288P Cv Rebuild Kit SWRA288 (2) WRA | eBay

And this: Hot Racing SWRA288CS Replacement drive Key Axle for SWRA288 288XD03 | eBay

for $28 would these be better than the axial ocp universals? I like them because they are cheaper and vanquish cvd style the way they are built.

I have the money for the vanquish ones should I just buy those? I just wanted to save a few bucks if I could, and would I get a better steering radius with the vanquish ones, or the axial ocp universals? Or what about the axial incision axles?
I guess Ima get the vanquish wraith vvd later, they are FULLY rebuildable

Thanks
-Spence

Junk. Universals are pretty much the same price and they don't suck. If and that's a big if you have breakage issues dlux sells parts individually.

Universals will give you more steering angle by far and will be much stronger than Hot Racing's CVDs. I have 2-3 sets of VP's VVDs and they are plenty strong and rebuildable like you said. If you're looking for ultimate strength, check out DLux's universals or Vanquish's new VXDs with 5mm stubs. Axial universals will be your best budget choice.

by god the vxds look awesome but damn $124
so would the vanquish vvds delver better steering radius than the axial universals? I think the vanquish vvds won't rust if I heard they are made of chrome steel and aluminium

No, universals will provide much more steering angle than VVDs. Having said that, my VVDs give me plenty of steering angle to rub the backs of my tires on the lower links. I couldn't use anymore without going to a larger offset wheel or smaller tire.

The reason VXDs are quite a bit more besides the universals themselves is because you're also getting a spool and clamping hexes. That's worth anoth $30 or so.

Thanks so my best bet is the axial universals? I think I would be happier with the vvds if they provide better steering radius then the stock dogbone setup?

That's your best budget choice. They will last a while as long as you don't exceed their limits as far as steering angle goes. Most front driveshaft breakage is due to over steering the front and getting bound up.

Pretty much any axle will provide better steering angle than dog bones.

I have vvd's and they are an improvement over dog bones for sure.

I run universals in 2 rigs, I'm a fan. Good angle, cheap and tough.

I have no experience with xvd's but I'll be picking a set up one of these days to test. They look like a solid option.

I noticed a huge difference going to the Axial universals versus the OEM/RTR dog bones. Plus, like others said, it's a comparatively budget friendly way to get much better steering and turning radius. Basically bullet proof too.
