| best 110mm rebuildable shocks for ax10 deadbolt? Help
Hi all, I have been searching around for the best 110mm shocks upgrade for my ax10 to replace the leaky junk stock axial pogo shocks. I was looking at traxxas big bores xx long shocks but not sure how long they are. Are integy shocks any good and are they rebuildable? I know integy has been known to make a lot of junky stuff... I was looking for full alloy shocks preferably with threaded bodies... Looking to spend under $100.. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks -Spence Last edited by Spencecrawler; 12-23-2016 at 04:45 PM. |

Traxxas 2662 big bores are 100mm eye to eye. Replace the shock shaft end with something longer if you need 110mm but honestly, I run 2662 big bores on my AX10 and they are the perfect length. You definitely don't need anything longer than 100mm. Traxxas big bores are the smoothest shocks you will ever run and yes, they are easily and very inexpensive to rebuild. I've tried all the popular and some of the not so popular shocks available and none of them are as smooth as big bores. Integy anything is garbage. Do not buy integy anything. Ever. |

Big Bores hands down . I run prolines on my yeti, big bores on most others. Very little difference in quality, adjustability , but best value around. I will say I don't run Traxxas springs, mainly losi , and don't forget longer rod ends or a cap mod with a stud and longer end will get you the longer length. Hang up and Drive |

I do not have the AX10 chassis... But installing upgraded shocks isn't all that much difference when it comes to the variety of available chassis designs. The Losi 4" alloy shocks have a threaded body/collar for preloading. Purdy decent shock and can be fitted... but is not metric. Losi: 4"Threaded Rock Crawler Shock Set with Springs (4): Losi (LOSA5082) I use the Traxxas T-Maxx 4962 BB's on both my SCX-10 and Wraith. And if I owned an AX10 it would get them too. They utilize plastic pre-load clips (included). I used longer ball ends at the lower shock shaft for my Wraith to increase over-all (eye - eye) length somewhat. But my SCX-10 does fine as they come. ( tho' I may install an up travel limiter (shock shaft) so it doesn't compress up into the wheel well as far) The Traxxas 4962 and 2662 are the same shock I believe. But the 4962 ( T-Maxx) includes 8 shocks, C springs, pre-load collars and oil. The 2662's do not include the extras 'cept oil. The over all length extended (eye to eye) is the same. Tho' the shock bodies about 4mm shorter then my Wraith original shocks. So the compression nets about 4mm more upwards travel. Not likely and issue on a body (wheel wells) that offer no interference. But the Traxxas BB's may need a limiter (bump) installed on the shaft(s) if the tires are inside a wheel well (or... raise the body - Lower the upper shock mount positioning). Here's the Traxxas 100mm BB's on my Wraith. Including the longer lower ball ends and bumps on the shock shaft to reduce the compression. I'm not using them on a Wraith chassis... and instead have body (interference) Possibly compression would not need be limited if installed on a original body/chassis Wraith. Google Traxxas big bores or search here if ya want to read/learn more about them. Lots of information regarding them and the modifications that can be done. The traxxas alloy bb's are a great shock with many options/modifications available if needed. Good luck Last edited by TacoCrawler; 12-26-2016 at 11:59 AM. |

Losi TLR rear sct 22 shocks are the best...thats why many peolpe who drive u4 use them...they are big bores, multiple piston adjustments, teflon coated, i think most guys who say traxxas big bores are living in the past....these are ready to go from the box...35$ a pair and i love em...i have some kyosho red velvet and love em..but expensive.so TLR SHOCKS try em..of u dont like em they will sell in a hour here in for sale section

I have the purple top HPI shocks (120mm I believe) and they work really well for me. I do have them internally limited so they aren't quite so long.

Some of the best shocks I've had were the rebuilt Axials that Brandon did years ago. His link is dead, but this is what I did to copy him. C*H*U*D's Ridgecrest They may not be as "blingy" as aftermarkets, but there's no denying that they work, they don't leak and they're silky smooth. |

Traxxas Big Bores or don't forget the awesome GMade shocks (just not the G-Transition models). Not quite 110mm, but close enough.

I found a NEW set of LOSI NightCrawler shocks on EBAY. I then got a spring kit and and played around with oil weights. The shocks work really well, and have not leaked at all. They are an aluminum body, anodized blue, with pre-load adjusters. I've been very happy with them and they were easy on the wallet as well!

I use the king shocks. I used rtv sealant to stop leaking and actual king oil in the shocks. Took my rod ends off and replaced them with stock and I love them. 110mm shocks with super light tender coil and light main. Bet it goes where all the guys who claim they can't lol. Love my setup!
