Default Motor help

I am building a SCX10 II, first build.
I am using the old 35 turn and ESC out of my Bomber.
I am running stock gearing from the kit.
I am also using 2.2 wheels and tires from my bomber.
The problem is that the motor and ESC is getting hot after about 15 min of run time.
What motor combo should i use with the big tires?

Please help. My local shop where i bought the kit is not help at all.
Thank You

So the ESC is the same on the RR10 and the SCX10-2, An AE-5. The stock RR10 spur is 64T and the pinion is 12T for a 5.33:1 ratio. The stock SCX10-2 spur is 56T and the pinion is 13T for a 4.30 ratio. Might need to gear the SCX10-2 closer to what the RR10 is.

Many other possible issues such as battery - 2s or 3s? Any binding in the drivetrain? High voltage servo?

Are you running a separate BEC? The AE-5 has a 5 volt BEC and doesn't like it when there is a high current demand.

Just a few things to ponder as you investgate.
