| Ridgecrest compatibilty?
I just got a Ridgecrest from a buddy. I know it uses some parts same as a Wraith and that it's technically an AX10. But very few "Ridgecrest" specific parts seem to be available. When shopping for parts, what's the best search to use? What is Wraith compatible? Just axles? What about links? |

It depends on what parts you're searching for. The axles are AR60 axles that are used on most of Axial's 2.2 rigs like the Wraith. The chassis is specific to the AX10. I'm not sure about the links, but I'm pretty sure they are shorter than the Wraith. The wheelbase on the Wraith is much longer than the Ridgecrest. |

I personally like the Ridgecrest, and still have one that needs to be rebuilt. The Ridgecrest is the previous version of the AX10 Deadbolt, and uses the same links as the Wraith. The skid plate on the Wraith is what makes the wheelbase longer, so you can buy Wraith aftermarket links, such as the Incision Heavy Duty Steel links, or Boom Racing, etc., and they should work. The AX10 transmission is the equivalent of the SCX10 or SCX10 II RTR versions. Let us know if there's a specific direction you'd like to go in, such as converting it to a more scale truck, or a Wraith, etc. You could get a basic SCX10 chassis (frame rails + skid plate, essentially), and make a Wroncho type truck, which would allow you to run a body w/bumpers and such, whereas, if you wanted to convert to a Wraith, you'd need a Wraith cage and transmission, since it's a little different.

| Re: Ridgecrest compatibilty? It depends on what look you want to achieve, but if it's more a scale truck look, you'll want to do more of a "Wroncho" build, using an SCX10 frame. I'd do some searches in this subforum, using "Honcho" "Hilux" or "Truggy", although the pictures may be absent due to the old Photobucket sham.

| Re: Ridgecrest compatibilty? You can put any body you want on a Ridgecrest chassis, as long as it suits your needs. Heck, I put a 1/8 Raminator hard body on mine, made it top heavy, but it looked cool.
