Default What do you all think of the aluminum front axle

Hey I have a AX10 Deadbolt completely stock. I want some parts for it but they are hard to find kinda. Will this aluminum front axle work? https://www.hobbytown.com/complete-b...23493s/p241258

Don't buy that axle, I've heard all kind of horror stories about integy stuff, from broken links to destroyed gears. If you want an aluminum axle look at vanquish, or ssd.

What parts are you looking for? The AX10 deadbolt uses most of the same parts as the axial wraith. In fact, they use the same axles, transmission and driveshafts. If you want narrower axles either try the original scx10 axle or the newer ar44.

I just want some more weight without adding weight for the sake of adding weight. I don't think it is heavy enough stock. Good to know most wraith parts work.

Yep, pass on that Integy junk, low grade stuff almost always.

You' don't need a ton of weight down low, my old Honcho worked great, steel beeftube up front, stamped steel beadlocks (RC4WD makes some great ones), CI foams, small 4.19 Ripsaw tires.

Maybe look into getting some aluminum c-hubs and get either Dlux knuckles or vp knuckle and rc bros weights (not sure if the rc bros weights are still being made). I've run both, Dlux is heavier. Either will add weight in the right place. Or I've also heard good things about beeftubes. If you don't want want to spend that much you can just add weights to the wheels.

here are some links.

Dlux
Dlux Fab

Beeftubes

this just one of many places you can get beef tubes

RC bros Look around you might be able to find a set used.

wheel weights

there are lots of threads on this look around. sort of a summary: it is ok if the rig is meant to go slow, if it is meant to go fast you will wreck bearings and other components. keep it about or below 3 oz per side.

I got sick of the threads backing out of the plastic AR60's on my old Gen 2 AX-10 (Since been sold). I wanted to re-work it on a budget since I wasn't using it much. I picked up the Xtra speed aluminum axles housings. Fairly cheap (like $48 shipped for both), and they worked well and went together easy.
