| devil rc spool and gear set is tight
I just installed a Devil RC onepiece spool and gear set on my scx10II. The axles were a very tight fit into the spool, which is fine, but the gear mesh seems way too tight. If I spin the drive gear with my fingers I can barely spin it. Do these gears need to be broke in? I expected a very smooth action with only grease resistance. Also, I received a washer with the kit that is extra. Where does that go? |

If you take the pinion (input shaft) out does the ring and spool spin freely in the bearing carriers? Maybe the bearing caps are too tight or the bearings arent set on the spool fully and causing a bind. Im not sure on the washer, it may be to go between the housing and the driveshaft to take up in/out play. If the spool spins freely with out the pinion gear then maybe the bearings arent set fully in the input side? Causing the pinion to be in too far and bind? All else fails you could try getting a hold of Locked Up RC with questions. SCX10 II Spools & Gears from Devil RC |

Took it apart put it back together, it works, feels good. Don’t know what it was, but it’s good now. Thanks
