Default Krazed Unstuck 3G

With all the parts going on this rig, 2nd Gen Ax 10 seemed like an ok place to put this. Hah.

I'm going to start with portals and see what it does. I've got an ax10 chunk with High Altitude Performance bling iin the front and capra with od gears in the rear.
Other bits that I plan on using are -
•Ax10 transmission
•Hot Bodies Rover 2.2 tires 1w/1r front
•Losi Boss Claws or some other square pin that's the same height for the rear
•Tekin 35t motor, Holmes Br mini, Servo? I'll have to see what I have.
•Krazed Builds UnStuck 3 Chassis
The rest is in pics or I haven't decided.

A few pics

I started on the front axle. It was a straightforward tube deal with stock guts because reduction. The HAP portals work with wraith or Ar60 chubs. I first fiddled with those in the " Brass Black" era. If you don't know what that is then remain seated.

I'm not huge on the matte carbon, but it's still carbon. Krazed leaves the skid choice up to you. I believe theres a couple available on shapeways or something. The chassis braces are 52mm long. No string plastic here. Delrin was the call. The drill bit got a little happy while I was countersinking one the trans holes Ah well

I also got the the trans together. Simple vanquish case with metal gears and a flip flap flopped motor plate.

I'm using a stock capra housing in the rear for now with goodies in the way of Boom Racing overdrive gears(27/, the inner bearing from Supershafty, and "Team Garage Hack" "Mild" overdrive portal gears. I'm not sure on the tooth count and the package doesn't offer anything.

ExPert tip - put a couple drops of ca or shoe goo in the recess where the pin goes and on the square drive from the axle to get some of the slop out.

I also realized while working on the rear ..

Talking Re: Krazed Unstuck 3G

The ring and pinion are flipped compared to the old ax style. When I went to modify my fabulous redcat chunk even further, I saw one of the link mounts was broke. Old faithful to the rescue.

Now I've got to a point where I have to do a little machining to one of the front shafts just shorten it and do a little touch on the rear shafts to clear the inner bearings. Also even though I only ran a couple courses at ECC I scored sweet in the raffle and got a whole set of Medium Dravtec Shocks from Dlux - already prebuilt!! just need oil - So my shock situation is ok for now.

Ops I had the wrong picture on the last post. Got it stuck together a little to get a mockup for a lectronics plate and see how my expectations match reality. So far so good.

That's a nice build so far!
What will be the OD/UD with the different axles?

Nice choice in front axle parts. That will be a lot more clearance than a stock capra front axle.

I'm not sure. More in the front will be better. Hah

it's always business in the front on a comp crawler right.

I made a little more progress on it. Got the electronics plate done. The wheelbase grew a little so I've got to stun the front a smidge.

I went ahead and put the wheels and tires together. I'm glad these didn't sell now - 2.2 Superstition Machineworks beadlocks, some old HB square pin tires from BTF Justice I believe, and C.I. 5.5 Double Deuce soft all around regular cut rear and comp cut front.

Playing around with bodies I think I'm going to go with the merv. I wanted to use the mojo but it sits awfully tall.

I got a tooth count today. The rear (27÷eight) × (21÷14) gets a 5.0625 ratio, and the front with standard hd gears (38÷13) × (33÷19) has a 4.76 ratio.

Maybe a crucial media scale comper could figure out the percentage difference anyway it isnt as much as I thought at first. May bump up the chunk ratio in the front.

Little update. I picked up some body mounts from ClassiCutCustoms and found some extra electronics to get it moving. Threw a lid on it and took it to the bumper reel gathering at Stone Mountain Sunday. It did well except where I cut the driveshaft just a little short making it come out of the hole with force. The car stayed settled mostly and the "square pins" in the back hooked more than I'd thought. Pics.. I'm not sure if these portals are up for the abuse. Maybe on smooth rock but assuming ECC is on this this year I may run a straight axle.
