And for all of you “weight watchers” out there, I just added 12 grams to my car…

What is the RTR weight?
I still prefer a 4.5 pound crawler.

Should be right around 4 lbs with the loaded dice on it.
I’ll weigh it when I get them on there, I am sure that will take a bit of sanding…

I was going to do a build thread on the Velvet shocks, but there isn’t too much technical info that the instructions don’t cover, but I did run into a few questions with the optional Extended Travel Cartridges so I thought I would put this here for others in case it helps.

Top Row: Standard setup per Kyosho instructions
Middle Row: Team Brood verbal instructions for Extended Travel option
Bottom Row: How I ended up actually building them

Team Brood recommends removing the spacer, an o-ring, and purchasing a thicker bushing.
It seems to me that it is a better option to just remove the spacer and use the original supplied thin bushing and both o-rings. Not only do you get two shaft seals but you don’t have to order more parts either… As you can see they are the same height. Maybe my thinking is wrong? Guess we’ll find out.

Just saw this, nice build. One of these days I want to build a sporty and it seems like Capra axles are most commonly used in recent builds, but I really like those newer ssdlux axles. This might just be the way I go if I get off my butt and finally build one.
