To clarify, I would need to drill a through hole right in between the outside edge and the inside edge of the cutout for the lower link. There wouldn’t be much material on either side of the M3 screw, so not sure if it would hold up or not…
Guess there is only one way to find out, but I would like to have a spare on hand first to fall back on, and 5thD doesn’t have any extras so I would need to order one from Shapeways… Not sure if getting the motor 1/8” lower is worth the hassle or not at this point…

Lost 9g going from G10 to CF and a Ti shaft already, here is another 15g…
Not that I am looking for an ultralight rig especially with these chunky aluminum axles, just shedding some un-needed weight…

What is happening here? Are you certain that CI doesn't have something already available that might work? CI did create a Loaded Dice inner for Dlux Fab wheels if that is what you are using.

From what I have seen on your website and all of your your retailers the Loaded Dice foams all have comp cut inners, so you still have to make them out of other CI foams if you want to run solids, correct?
A few of us have been using solid front inners with tapered edges for a couple years now, sort of a “Mohawk” shape if you will, but not quite that aggressive…

Playing around with some body mounting options. I made these 3/16” 7075 spacer mounts a few years ago.
Not really a fan of them being on the shock mounting holes permanently for tuning reasons,
but I may run them for now since they line up perfectly with an old pre-cut body…

Well apparently these Dlux uppers aren’t going to work…
I’ll have to go see if I can find my die for the 1/8” rod tomorrow…

Couple spaghetti bends and they'll line up just fine

Looking like 114mm is about the right length for the rear uppers on these axles, so a 100mm bare rod.
119mm eye to eye (105mm rod) seems good for the front uppers.
Still haven’t found my 5-40 die so I guess I need to order another one…

You can run a 6-32 die on 1/8" rod with good results. Helps keep the rod from ripping out of the rod end too

I will give that a shot, thanks.
I don’t have a lot of experience with making my own links with the 1/8”
material, as I have always used 3/16” G5 Ti or 7075 Al in the past.

Found the 5-40 die, but ended up using the 6-32 with good results, thanks.

But now the front uppers are too long…
To cut down or to bend… Or both.

Decided to put a bend in the front upper links first then shorten them if they need it after that.
You can see here that they hit the servo mount under compression and I need them about 3mm shorter to get the front angle that I am going for.

There are a lot of ways to bend links, and these 1/8” rods could probably be done by hand, but I like them to be a bit more consistent than that.
This seems to have done the trick for now…

On to the next thing, I decided to add internal limiters to the rear shocks, as it had a little too much droop for my liking.
I also clocked the caster back one spline that measures out to 21°.
