Capra Battery Thread Which LiPo batteries have you found to fit in the stock, unmodified battery tray in the Capra without having to jam them in there with lube? Photos and links are a bonus. I'm using Goldbat 3S 1500mAh LiPos and there is plenty of room left so I'm looking for something slightly bigger. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GDYMF3X/ http://i.imgur.com/0d3cj6wh.jpg |

Re: Capra Battery Thread 1 Attachment(s) Hobbyking zippy pack 2200mah 3s fits tightly. Was also able to squeeze in the Helios 3500mah 3s shorty packs this was super tight but it tucked in. Protek 3600mah lihv 3s fits too. |
Re: Capra Battery Thread ProTek 3600mAh 3S LiHV. This is an older battery, the newer ones (pretty sure they're the same size) are 4100mAh. Tucks in pretty snug. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...44cc02fd1a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bfd048098d.jpg Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk |
Re: Capra Battery Thread I'm sticking to my 1550mah 3s 45c Tattu. Anything bigger is just unneeded weight IMO. |
Re: Capra Battery Thread It looks like SMC has a 3S 4000mAh 50C pack if their specs are to be believed. It's not cheap at $40 though. https://www.smc-racing.net/index.php...product_id=557 |
Re: Capra Battery Thread Ordered 2 Turnigy Nanotech 2S shorty packs. $38 for both. Should just fit, have a few mm to spare in each direction. |
Re: Capra Battery Thread Quote:
SMC cuts out the "middlemen"...they are the manufacturer...so there no additional markup. That's how they keep their prices low. The "downside" (albeit, a very minimal one) is that you usually have to wait a little longer to receive them. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Re: Capra Battery Thread I can also confirm that the Reedy WolfPack Hard Case Shorty 2S 3000mAh fits without any problems. It's tight enough that it's not going to move around, but easy enough to remove. It comes with a Deans Ultra connector...but, for those that want something else, changing the connector to whatever you want is easy enough. Still waiting for the Gens Ace Adventure batteries (3S) to arrive. Will update on fitment once they arrive. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

These are my Zippy packs. I assume these got replaced with the yellow version. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-fl...-3s1p-40c.html Quote:

Re: Capra Battery Thread Definitely relevant to battery fitment: how/where are you guys routing your power connection to the esc? I've got a 2200mah 3s from Value Hobby that just squeezes into the tray, but the power wires must exit straight up since there's no room to tuck them into the battery tray. That hasn't been a problem for me yet since I haven't put the body on yet, but I need a tidier and better accessible solution than feeding it through the windshield! :lmao: Do you just run it under the center of the tray, then loop it back into the battery compartment from the front? |
Re: Capra Battery Thread I have not got my Rig yet. Can I ask what is the max Length I can use to put inside this space for the Batter? I was looking at these packs from Promatch 3s (11.1V) 5200 mah 45C hardwired soft case lipo pack https://promatchracing.com/product/3...ase-lipo-pack/ 139mm, 5.47″ L x 45mm, 1.77″ W x 28mm, 1.10″ H Thank you for your time. Re: Capra Battery Thread Quote:
Axial says the max size is 98mm x 47mm x 26mm but there is a couple mm extra space depending on how the wires exit the pack. |

This is other idea. I know with some Sanwa radio people have wired up this Panasonic 18650B 3400mah 3.7v Rechargeable Li-ion Battery https://rcdude.com/panasonic-18650b-...ttery-2pc.html Wire up 3 cells and it will save weight just a idea. Again thank you all. |
Re: Capra Battery Thread I've been using a HobbyStar 3S 3700mah in my Element. It should fit the Capra as well. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/9~EAA...JJ/s-l1600.jpg |

Re: Capra Battery Thread I've got a pair of these batts on on order from AMain that should be here any day.: https://www.amainhobbies.com/lumenie...um2951/p997406 RPP has some 3S Helios 1500 batteries that look like they'll also fit the bill nicely. Helios has a better reputation and I wanted those but RPP was out of stock on everything I wanted to order. AMain had everything but with the Lumenier batteries instead so I thought I'd give them a try. I also have the same 4100 mah ProTek LiHv packs mentioned by JSterrett which on paper should fit. I'll let y'all know after I get the truck build started soon. |

Re: Capra Battery Thread I also run the Hobbystar 3700 batteries in a few rigs. They work well enough for the $40 price. Although my Capra is only 50% done, they definitely do fit the battery tray. "thumbsup" https://www.rcjuice.com/lipo-batteri...o-battery.html |
Re: Capra Battery Thread I've got about a dozen RC Juice Hobbystar batteries and I've only one puff on me after about 2 dozen cycles. The rest have been absolutely perfect. Can't recommend them enough. |
Re: Capra Battery Thread I'm currently running some cheap 1600mAh 3S soft packs that I was originally using in my plane. With the battery tray set to fit them snug they are 102mm x 35mm (wide) x 20mm . |
Re: Capra Battery Thread Any body find a 4s that fits that also has enough amp capacity to handle a 2700 brushless ? |
Re: Capra Battery Thread Gens Ace Adventure 3600's seem to fit. https://i.imgur.com/C9tfC7B.jpg https://i.imgur.com/GlQ6frr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EluFMx7.jpg |

Re: Capra Battery Thread I know that typically the zippy and turnigy packs are fairly close in size for a given mah. I see that people are able to squeeze in a 2200mah 3s zippy pack. Could someone confirm that the same size turnigy packs fit? I have a bunch of those and it would be easier to justify another truck purchase if my turnigys fit. |
Re: Capra Battery Thread Gavin and I are using these G Force Elite 100C 4S 1300mah lipo battery in our Capra build. Linked here; GForce Elite Series 100C 1300mAh 4S 14.8V LiPO (XT60 Connector) - 4S LiPO - 14.8V - Batteries - Power | Value Hobby |

Awesome! Good to know. 4 should easily get me through the day then. |
Re: Capra Battery Thread I was pleasantly surprised. I was thinking I'd go somewhere in the 30-40 minute range on those. |

Re: Capra Battery Thread I'm going to try and dig up a sintered 11T pinion. I had a hardened 11T pinion and it was really loud. I'm not saying that the mesh was necessarily perfect, but the sintered metal on sintered metal sounds a lot better to me. I like a little wheel speed, but not quite this much. |
