Congrats!!! It's a very capable rig, often taking lines that others have trouble and making it look easy. I think it's an excellent buy!

Although I only spent 90 minutes working on mine today, I feel it was an incredibly productive session. I removed the skid from the frame, removed the defective micro servo, plugged in the replacement, and tested it to make sure it was operating correctly. Next, I installed the replacement, attached the horn (after it had centered itself), and set the 'sweet spot' for "FWD w/ freewheeling". Finally, I set the proper endpoints (this is what took the most time), and put everything back together.

While I still have not yet completed my interior, I do, at least, have a fully operational goat...finally. Oh, yea, and I also now have a second cage/frame...but that's a story for another time (nevertheless, I would like to thank Horizon Hobby for providing it to me free of charge).

While it's still not finished, I brought the interior one step closer to completion. I finally finished Dremeling the new "steering wheel". Here's a "before" & "after" photo of what I used to make the "wheel":

After that, using J-B Weld Plastic Bonder, I attached the steering column to the "wheel". It's not quite dry, but here's a 'close-up' sneak-peek of what the almost-finished wheel looks like:
Next up, painting & installing the wheel, finishing & installing my "replacement" driver & navigator into the interior, and, finally, installing the interior into the Capra.

Granted I only have a cage, so a body, I'll call v1.0, got mocked up tonight. Mixes it up a bit. One down, 4 to go. I've been looking a cheaper alloy axles (AR44), along with portal pieces, allowing for caster adjustment. Yea or nay on them? Hard to deviate from the full indy suspension mindset, all I've ever built. Maybe Exo suspension and such this time???

With the nearly nonexistent Exo parts why not venture into a suspension from the Traxxas lineup?

Which model? There isn't much real estate to work with, and I'd like to keep it 1.9 or 2.2 max. Yes, I have more SCORE TT wheel/tire sets than Axial probably does at this point in time, but those are the premium go fast build tires. Kinda like an IRA or 401 account, they keep gaining value.

The Slash line is likely the most prolific. But apparently kinda inbetween Axial axle widths.

1/16 is narrower than OG SCX10

1/10 is a little wider than ar60 axles.

I don't think you'll be able to use Slash 4x4 axles on the Capra, because the Slash (along with the Stampede, Rustler, & Rally) has an independent suspension that doesn't use solid axles. The suspension on all 4 of the above-mentioned vehicles is, essentially, identical to what you'd find in an off-road racing buggy.

If you can figure out a way to make it work, I'd be extremely interested in seeing a step-by-step thread on the conversion. I've seen people convert a Slash 4x4 into an e-buggy (aka BackSlash), but the idea of "merging" a Capra with any of these Traxxas vehicles is "intriguing", to say the least. I'm actually in the "parts purchasing" stage to do one, although I'm using a Rustler chassis, instead of the Slash chassis.

Oh it can and will be done. The original concept for the axial yeti was built by a dude in a hotel room in hawaii using nothing but hand tools and a new exo and wraith while he was hanging out.

This ain't the space shuttle, parts will be made and it'll work pretty easily.
