My Vitavon covers should be here in the next few days, and I also stole the window net idea. It looks too good on yours to resist!

Got some new shoes. I have the aluminum trans case and 9T pinion gear ready to install and the brass portal covers should be in tomorrow. Hopefully I can make the time to get them all in for a run next weekend.

How did the bearings fit into yours? I had to tap mine in with a brass hammer.

Mine fit perfectly. If they weren't perfectly straight when putting them in, they could be fidgety. But when lined up, they popped right in.

I just installed mine today. One side fit tight but wasn’t too hard to get in. The other side was too tight and took some elbow grass and persuasion to get the bearings to seat.

Siggy mentions the fit here:

Got out for the first time with the vitavon covers on the Capra was doing well. I stripped the servo horn and a plastic trail replacement didn’t last long so I didn’t get to drive it as much as I’d have liked.

Couple clips of this fun rock to climb up, a trail walker and another fellas truck made it up this rock too.

My Vitavon covers fit well. I'll agree that you'll need to verify that you've got them lined up straight before inserting them. Definitely made a difference where I crawl.

I'm really loving the paint scheme. Any tips on how you did it?

Thanks! If you haven't already, check it out here: A Capra build by B-MOW

All I did was spray the rear part of the panel with the met. red and after it dried, I sprayed the rest of the panel with the silver. Backed it with white and then with black.

There is a better description in my build thread!

Finally found some time to install these. If you haven’t done it yet here’s a tip. If you have a compressor and air gun with rubber nozzle, you can pop the bearing off the cover by placing the nozzle into the center hole of the bearing and giving a short controlled blast of air. The bearing itself should pop into the brass bearing race with just finger pressure if it’s aligned right.

Today, I finally had time to disassemble the transmission, and rebuild it...inside a nice, shiny, machined aluminum transmission housing from Vitavon Racing. Everything went together very smoothly.
I didn't have time to test it, as I have to work today, plus the replacement dig servo was delayed (FedEx loaded it into a truck for delivery today, but for some unknown reason...maybe that driver called in sick...the truck never departed the depot). No worries, as it's not the end of the world.

Today, I installed new, longer, bent links. The lower links were bent from 121mm links, while the new uppers were bend from 97mm links, lengthening the wheelbase by 6mm (318mm to 324mm). I haven't actually measured, but they also supposedly lower the rider height, from 76mm, to 66mm. Being 26g heavier than the stock links, they're also helping to lower the COG.

I haven't taken photos...yet...because I have a few more things to do to the Capra tomorrow morning, before heading for work:
First, the replacement dig servos arrived, so I need to install & test that. Also, some new HR clamping aluminum hexes (to replace the brass ones I'm going to be moving to the TK), so will take care of that (all of 2-3 minutes). Finally, if there's still enough time, be Iwant to swap the Pit Bull Growler ATs for the recently-delivered JConcepts Landmines.

Since I'm already 'informing' today, what I'll be doing tomorrow, I'll just post evening, including photos, under my build thread.

UPSTATE:
Here's some photos.
