Default Jeeper mods a Capra

I got to this thread as it is a little late, but I will be documenting the modification process of my Capra

So far it is a fun little rig my biggest complaint was the manual, which was easily worked around. I ended up choosing ProLine Krawler tires, and for my electronics, I chose a hobbywing 1080, EcoPower WP110T servo, and spekrum radio system. First mods I had to do were more weight, aluminum panels, and aluminum wheels.

First mods in store were some SSD Contenders I had on another truck, and some homemade aluminum panels.
In the wheels I’ve got a nice row of sticky weights which improved the capability a ton. I knew I’d want to run a full droop setup, so I opted for the purple springs in the rear, and red in the front.

Looking real good. I see you are representing the RDC family, thought I was the only one that did that.

I like the look too. Great job on those aluminum panels.

What is the RDC family?

Thanks! RDC is an off-road racing forum.

Default Jeeper mods a Capra

First drivetrain mod to the Capra. Bought some incision steel universals for an SCX and they fit perfectly and sound a ton better

Mine arrived yesterday...but, first, need to resolve the "mysterious" DIG servo problem. Nevertheless, they look great.

Installed my Incision driveshafts...but, after installing, and then looking at your photos again, I realized I installed them in the opposite direction ("skinny" end on the transmission side, and "thick" end on the axle side. Will that make any difference? Should I reverse them?

I usually run them like this to prevent dirt and sand from getting trapped in them as easily. Either way if perfectly fine though.

I haven't done it yet, as I installed them while at work, but I was planning on putting some grease on the splines. Figured, that would not only smooth extension/contraction movement, but would also "seal" it from anything getting between the two shaft pieces. It's just an "idea", tho...my first crawler, so what do I know...lol

That should work pretty well to keep the junk out of them too. Either way they’re super smooth.

Will find out when I take it for a second "very short" test run, either tomorrow morning, or Tuesday. Gotta get going to work...but, this morning, I installed the brass 6mm wide hexes (so that the 225 hubs are no longer causing problems, plus they added a lil weight), plus I got the primary color sprayed on the body panels. Ok...off to work.
