i ordered some 3s 800mAh 45c /90cBurst graphite lipos. very cheap for 8,- but also very powerfull. i need only 20min runtime because the sections in the races are only ~15min. i also safe 25gr. weight to my 1350mAh now.

I'm still curious about something, which has been asked several times, in multiple threads, by several people...yet, no definitive answer had been given - what's up with upside-down shocks? I mean, what's the real advantage(s), if any? Also, what are the negatives in doing this?

But does it really that much of a difference? If the shock bodies were made of SS, I could see it making a noticable difference...but, with plastic & aluminum shock bodies, I'm not seeing how it could make a noticable difference.

When you're serious about competing, every gram you can move lower and towards the wheels helps.

Oil is heavy too...

it's all about gravity (9,81ms×2)

so every gramm, every oz. the car weights more is multiplicated with ×10 to do the worst things while driving.

most of the rigs in our european circus weight about 2.5kg but not lighter, some spider axle cars weight 3.3kg but not heavier. i came out with ~2.6kg and the big CoG problem because portals.

often is it more important where the weights are, not the total weight. it's all about balance.

the upside down "mod" is the cheapest one, just flip. also it is the scalest one, nearly all 1:1 cars drive upside down because weight and leaking

sometime it is problematic to give a proper buggy angle to the dampers when mounted upside down. but the enduro shocks are well designed for no problems with some spacers and different balls.

moving the shocks on the axle outside is the most important mod on a car. in this way the dampfer work much more progressiv for very soft working in the start, medium in the sag and hart to protect after jumps. the standard attachement on the capra is neutral rear and degressive in the front. degressive is the worst shitty setup up: hard in the start and soft after jumps , so no good driving.

so moving the shocks upside down and to the ends of the axles is moving weight to the only good point.

because passing some water the foams get wet. so the rig was 2.7k weight at the winch test. winch is hitec 12k on 3s

still a little to slow, i need a faster one

While I'll agree that turning the scale shocks upside is "the cheapest mid" (it's free), your assertation that "nearly all 1:1 cats drive upside-down" is not true. You might want to read this (https://www.truckspring.com/blog/pos...ks-upside-down) to shed some light on the subject. However...I'm willing to give it a shot, and see how it does.

You got me thinking about buying another Ender3 and converting it into a CNC.

Really cool and interesting build, C3s are foreign to me so it’s nice to see a familiar platform adapted.

Crazy that it can basically drive completely sideways in one of those clips.

CAD stands for cardboard aided design I think

Awesome build, I cant help but want a shafty and these seem like a great starting point.

Oh and someone asked what body that is, its the HSV (NSX) concept that was turned into a GT500 race car which is a Japanese series. V10 noises > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebEMJy4cznQ

using portals it's most important to keep the lower one straight. the spin momentum of the portals need full support in 90° direction. exspecially with the big capra underdrive.
