What Motor?
 

I have a few options for my capra.

Axe 2300 system - Id have to pull it out of a trx4, but its an option.

HW 1080 W/Tekin 45T motor

I have a mamba x and sensored 3800 in it right now. its pretty quick"thumbsup" but need a good crawler motor. I would kind of like to try a HH motor, but not sure which one.


Whats your guys thoughts? I'm just playing around with friends, trying to out crawl them for the day.

In my first Capra, I'm running the Mamba X, and a Slate 2280kV. I'll be running another Mamba X in the 2nd Capra, and a Mamba Micro X w/ external BEC in the 3rd. As for motors, the 2nd will probably be a HH PP BL 540 2200kV, and the 3rd a ROC412/ROC412 HD 2300kV. The 2nd uses the Capra cage, but will be running an AX10 3-gear trans, while the 3rd will be running the Capra trans, but the Alcista chassis.

I’ve got a Mamba X with a PP Stubby 2200kv in mine. I started with a PP 3500kv and it was wayyyy to quick.

I like it. Quiet like the rest of the PP's (not the annoying sound of the revolver) and plenty of grunt. The 3500 would pick up the front tires on my concrete driveway!

I'm leaning toward the PP standard can, should I get the 2200 or 3500? You know, just in case I need the speed in for future rigs?

The standard can (at least the V1) will need some slight trimming of the passenger side rear link mount. The Stubby models fit without issue. I had a 3500kv and on 3S was wayyyyyy toooo fast! It would pull the front wheels (with a 2.2) off the ground on my concrete driveway.

I went ahead and ordered the v2 2200 standard PP. Hope it gets here today.

What about the 540 HH Revolver?

I would have to guess that it would fit just fine. I would compare the overall dimensions against the PP, since the standard length will just barely interfere with the lower link mount.
