| What wheels are you using?
I've been out of the RC crawler loop for the last 2+ years. Today I finally decided to get back into it so I bought a Capra from Tower Hobbies. Anyway, one of the first upgrades I plan on doing is to replace the stock plastic wheels with some good quality aluminum ones and while I was at it, I was going to replace the stock foam inserts and tires with dual stage foam inserts and 1.9 Hyrax tires from Proline. What wheels do you guys and gals recommend?

Welcome back! There are many nice aluminum wheels made by a variety of different manufactures to be had these days. I have bought many cheap alum bead lock wheels from eBay and Amazon in the past and have great success with them. Vanquish, SSD, Gearhead and others are very nice and more expensive, but well worth the extra dollars. I personally like and run the Vanquish wheels on a few of my rigs. Currently I am running the VP Method 101's with Proline Hyrax tires with stock foams. |

I'm running the Vanquish 2.2 Method 101, with J Concepts Landmines (1.9), on my first Capra. On my second Capra, built as a Class 3 rig, I've got Vanquish 2.2 OMF NXG1 with 2.2 Pro-Line Hyrax. You can certainly run 1.9 wheels, but I felt that the 2.2s just looked better. With the minimal difference, it's easy to mount 1.9 tires on the 2.2 wheels. ~ More peace, love, laughter & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Interesting... I'm really digging SSD's and VP's offerings. I saw with VP the hubs are a separate purchase. This is a new concept to me, I am used to the hubs coming with the wheels. Which hubs would fit the Capra? |

SSD Prospect Take their advise on the thread lock for the ring bolts. They all loosen and then start falling out. I actually heard this guy fall out today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
