| Ugh, another one
Guess I will join the band wagon and see what this thing is all about. This isn't going to be a build thread because who wants to see another Capra be built for the 123234343 time? So it is just going to be a bunch of pics and some random thoughts. Enjoy. Picked up a Capra kit to build at the same time my buddy in Ohio was building his. I got him hooked on RC crawling finally and I believe this is his first kit. Kit went together pretty smooth. I'm taking my time doing some painting as I go. No hurry since the weather here is complete trash right now and has been for a while. Only had 1 part missing/wrong part. instead of a angled link end I got an extra steering tie rod end. I was able to work with some old bomber parts and get it to work temporarily. I emailed Horizon and they responded albeit very slowly. So hopefully I will get the right part eventually. At any rate here are some pics of it so far. Interior is away getting painted and I am working on paint on the helmets myself. Any tips or info feel free to post them up. I like the way this thing looks. It's growing on me. |

Loving the wheel tire combo. Being stretched on, how soft and or grippy do they seem? I'm tired of the rtr program on mine. Reason I ask is when I stretched the KR2s to fit sc beadlocks on my Bomber, they firmed up more than I would like for rockin' it.

How did you paint the fuel tank and grill accent? Hand or spray? If spray, that's a lot of masking!!!!! And what paint did you use for the fuel tank? Quite glossy. I like it! |

| Re: Ugh, another one The fuel tank was sprayed with Tamiya TS-30 silver first then hand painted by my wife with Tamiya X-7 red. She also painted the grill by hand with the same red and Tamiya X-32 Titanium. She likes hand painting and is very good at it. Better than me, lol.

Tell her she did an excellent job! Now I'll have to try it and see what kind of mess I create. |

Looks great! The fuel cell is one of the better ones I’ve seen for sure. What are the plans for the body? Why stretch a 1.9” tire onto a 2.2” wheel and not just get the 1.9” wheel? |

I would assume he just likes a lower profile tire/less sidewall but same overall height.

The body is getting a custom wrap from Rogue Graphix if it ever gets here. I also have a metal panel set idea that is still in the planning phase. I have found the proline tires and their unique bead don't fit most internal beadlock wheels to my liking. After some experimenting I found they fit when stretched onto the 2.2" internal bead lock wheels a whole lot better. The trick is finding narrow 2.2" wheels. I also like the slightly lower profile look that they give. Last edited by JDM74; 02-22-2021 at 02:21 PM.

Ahh, thanks makes sense. I agree the lower profile is a sharp look. |

Well I got the wrap in today and installed it. Not super happy with it. The Capra body panels are just too busy. I've got some Aluminum panels on the way. Anyway here are the pics. I could have done a better job installing the wrap but whatever... And even though everyone just knows the vulgar meanings, cabrón can also mean billy goat... Personally, I think the wrap came out pretty good - and you know after a couple tumbles any minor installation issues will be unnoticeable! |

I actually like that wrap and the stock panels quite a bit. This thing is sick.

Pretty disappointed at Horizon’s reply on the missing link part that I had during assembly. They basically said, “we don’t have any in stock, we can give you a coupon to your favorite on line hobby shop.” How about opening up a kit you have in stock and sending me the part I need? If I didn’t have a spare part that I could use to get up and running I would be extremely angry at this response. Sorry, rant over...
