I definitely find the stinger nose to be an improvement...

Even have a printed replacement for the stock Bomber nose piece that has a more prominent stinger, myself.

I just wanted something to distract from the “mr burns overbite”, as someone else called it

Nice work on the Capra stinger! It looks much better than any of the metal offerings currently available. Hopefully it holds up well.

Nice build by the way.

Cheers👍
Ive already put the stinger through hell. it has cracked, but is still attached and functional. Going to modify the model slightly to be a bit beefier at the two front screws.

Turned out great. 2.2s make a big difference over the 1.9s.

Ya for sure! I just need to do a bit of a re-vamp to the front stinger design first.

On a side note, ive broken another front axle housing, the same spot as the last one, but other side. Tossing around the idea of going aluminum in the front.
Anyone have experience with the various brands of aluminum housings? Im looking at:

Vanquish kit-$315 CAD, offset diff with new axles and steering links

Treal- ~$160 Cad, just replacement housing

Supershafty- ~$200 CAD just replacement housing, but seems better designed than treal.

After my front axle housing broke (I watched it crack in a spiral while crawling, not from a drop) I bought a cheap cast pot metal housing... it arrived broken in the package so I sent it back. I ended up with a Treal billet housing and it has been solid, no complaints. I've been kicking around buying the Treal housing for the back too, but that got me thinking that buying a VP front, then moving my current front to the back would almost make sense at that point. Then I remembered that I don't have much use for 4ws! If you act quickly, there might still be a used VP front Capra axle in the classifieds for a good price, it's been up for about a day.

Kind of my thinking with the vanquish front kit. I could order a new plastic housimg when they are in stock and move it to the rear.

Thanks for the heads up on the classified unit, i sent him a PM

Ordered up the vanquish front axle kit, also got a direct power servo off aliexpress. Had all intentions of ordering a svh650 from holmes hobbies, but after exchange and shipping it was well over $200. Im trying to convince a hobby shop near me to bring in HH servo’s, as they already have the motors. If they do, im going to pick up a 500lp for the rear!

Well the VP front axle kit showed up today. Ill get it swapped on after the family goes to sleep, and get it out for a test tomorrow! No stock i can find on a replacement plastic housing yet, so the rearsteer will have to wait. But very excited for that!

Few changes as of late, VP front axle kit, $60 direct power servo while i wait for my HH servo to come in, moved upper shock mounts, longer link ends on rear links (333mm wheelbase now), made some aluminum body panels and painted, printed a mount to move esc to front drivers side of cab (really tight fit, had to trim interior and battery tray to make work), cut and siped the tires.
Truck is performing really great, stoked to get the remaining parts i’m waiting for to get the rear steer happening! Finally getting a bit of dry weather to really see what it can do without mud all over the tires.
Rear shocks started leaking pretty bad, so re-building those this evening.

Just updated the axe system with the new firmware that is available. It awesome! The new lower startup rpm is immediately noticeable, even smoother off the bottom.

Could I get the stl file for the front bumper? I'd be willing to pay for it.
