Would a 2.2 scale version of this be legal for the comp? http://jalopnik.com/358115/chainlink...ng-super-buggy It might not be perfectly scale to that truck, but if I could figure out a way to build something like that and still make it look like you could build it in 1:1, would it be ok with everyone?

I am gonna have to say NO, sorry man. But we would love to see it on sunday at the trail ride and fun day if you can build it.

What if I figured a way to build it using a tubed frame rail chassis?

I would love to say that as a scaled down crawler. Looks pretty difficult to do though.

It wouldn't be perfect, but I could get fairly close. I would change it to look a little more "production truck heavily modified for the trail" kind of rig.

Isn't forced articulation penalized/illegal? Wouldn't there also be a reverse penalty every time you rotated a tire backward for skid steer? (it looks like it is capable of skid steer) Im sure someone who knows the rules better could chime in on this. It would be a cool rig no doubt though. Last edited by _BEN_; 02-22-2008 at 06:22 PM.

I guess I'm just trying to find out why it wouldn't be allowed-it would match all the rules and be based on a scale rig and look like it could be based on a production chassis, so I don't see how it wouldn't be allowed unless it's just because you think it would work too well...

I don't see any suspension limitations in the rules?

The only limitation I can see is that it has to look like it could be based on a production rig, which I could easily do.

I think I've figured out a way to make something like this scale for the comp but also lean more towards a more orthodox rig-let me build it, then tell me what you think?
