Default Winch

Who is running a working winch for the event? I am thinking I will need one on my clone but I dont have a radio that has a 3ps 3rd channel :-( I have some mountain bike parts I can dump to scrape up some cash so I can pick one up. Does this radio have a 3 ps 3rd channel Spektrum DX3R DSM2 3CH Surface Radio ? I just bought a scale pull pal off a member on scale 4x4 so maybe its time to man up and get a winch going...

DX-3R, that is all you need to get, winch? hell yes, there will points on the courses that I make that are designed and will need to use a winch otherwise you will loose more points

I will have one on both rigs. A winch prolly won't be required but to score well I think you will need one. Other wise you will have to rely on other people pulling you out.

Why not just remove the servo board and wire the servo plug directly to the motor. Then you can make a handheld, battery power unit with a 3 way switch out of an electronics box. Just plug it in when you need the winch, no 3rd channel needed.
I'm thinking of doing that so that I can use my 3rd channel to shift the "transfer case" in my 1.9.

I have a working winch on the 2.2 scaler. I'm going to try and get one on the 1.9er too. Best thing about the scale rigs is the winching.

I really, really, really, really, don't want to There is no good place for one on the Truggy and I'm not going to screw that thing up for a winch.

I am planing on having one but I am having problems with mine. I it keep jurking when I use my steering. I think I might have to add a switch to mine and just loss a point to turn it on. unless I can get help to figure out how to fix it

I'm going to run my hybrid with a 3PM radio for the winch. It works OK w/o the 3pos 3rd channel you just have to set it up so that you use the digital trim for winch in/winch out.

In that case, you could try putting a winch on the back of the truggy. Shouldn't be too difficult.
