2014 RC4WD Southwest Scale Championship April 25-27

Hello everyone. I'm proud to announce the next installment of the "championship" scale competition for 2014. UTRCRC will be hosting the Southwest Scale Championship on April 25-27, 2014. The first two days will be held at the Three Peaks Recreation Area just northwest of Cedar City, Utah.

We will be running Class 1 and 3 on Friday, Class 2 and King of the Peaks (1.9 and 2.2) Saturday....same as the NWSC last year.

The TTC will be held on Sunday April 27 in St. George, Utah at a location to be specified later. We figured everyone would do the same as last year and stay in Cedar City on Saturday night and drive to St. George on Sunday morning, about 45 minutes to location.

There will also be a Concours sometime during the weekend (we need to figure out the best day to do it) with trophies.

Our host hotel will be the Springhill Suites in Cedar City. The Concours and awards will be held in their conference room. We have a block of 20 rooms reserved at a discounted rate for April 24-27Everyone will have to call and make their reservation under Southwest Scale Championship (SWSC) to receive the discounted rate. The rooms in our block have two double beds and a sitting area with a sofa bed for $90 per night.

There is also talk of some first-come first-served camping on site, but we are waiting for confirmation on that.

For those who must fly:

Cedar City has a regional airport and may be the best option.
St George has a larger municipal airport and is 50 miles from Cedar City.
McCarran International in Las Vegas (LAS) is about 180 miles from Cedar City.


This is going to be a fun competition in an amazingly beautiful area.

I happen to remember the last course of Ut vs Lv - a lipo strapped to my roof and only trying to "out run Casey to the finish". Like 6 rollovers later someone still only out scored me by 3points I do believe. Lol

All in good fun, it's just 20bucks between friends - it's ON!
