Default Duuuuuuuudes Bomber

Not much to see yet.

I do like it quite a bit thought. Probably Axials best rtr to date. Got a few of the usual mods to do...universals, Dlux trailing arms and sway bar, Beef Tubes, and the VP lockouts, c-hubs/knuckles, and trusses I pulled from my Wraith. Servo will be swapped out for a Hitec, but I'll run the stock esc/motor for a while until I figure out what power plant I want in it.

When I get the time, I'll swap in the included dual stage shock pistons and change shock oil.

While the axles are apart I'll be tossing in underdrive gears front and back to knock down the torque twist.

DCW Mammoths. I had no clue about the Bomber color scheme when I bought that delrin, but it worked out. Very nearly the same blue.

Easy stuff is on.

The first actual "mod". I don't like nosebleed rigs. Lowering the rear was easy enough, the front took a wee bit of work. It'll probably need more, but it's a start. Remove the shock/link/sway bar mounts, chop the sway part portion off, flip them over, reinstall. There are actually three benefits to this...1) slightly lower ride height, 2) it rolls the axle back just a little, increasing caster, and 3) because of the increased caster, the servo now clears the cage at full bump.

How bout oper8r black, stormtrooper white and smurfs blue?

Those wheels are about the perfect shade of blue. How's the weight/cg of the cage?

Smurf blue? Phsaw.

Weight is about like a Wraith I guess, haven't put it on the scale yet.

Center of gravity is just about dead center of the wheelbase. I haven't strung it up to see where it is exactly, but that's coming soon.

Once that is done it'll be suspension tuning time. The skid has some oddly familiar looking mounting points for the uppper links. Looks good though, and it's nice to see that Axial is paying attention to what we're doing to their rigs.

Otherwise, tonight I got all my old VP parts on, and the UD gears and Beef Tubes in. Tomorrow I'll either start on making new links or dropping the skid and measuring for a new motor.

Hey Duuuude, I copied your idea on modifying the front shock/link mount, awesome idea btw! I also installed the shorter rod end (comes in the package) and gained another 3/16" food for thought if you haven't already done it, I couldn't tell from the pic.
