When I used to use the clamping style on my super, I would literally go through 3 or so horns in a weekend. It was not un common that my spares would run out and it would end my weekend. After going to the non clamping, I never stripped even one horn. Maybe your luck is the brand of horn youre using? I am not going to vouch for a plastic horn but a good quality aluminum non clamping should be good to go. I have used the Hitec horn and Air Wild horns and ever stripped a single one.

Thanks Erik. What is diff. between sporty and ultra 4? Is the drag link you sell with it bent like ffwf's? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |

There are some extra pictures if you go back to that link. The sporty trusses are small, minimal and dont strengthen the housing. The U4 are the full length trusses that strengthen the housings along with all the other benefits. The drag links I provide are straight. The tie rods are bent. |

Sporty verion are the ones that do not span the entire axle, Ultra 4 version act as a housing strengthener and DO span the entire axle. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

| Re: FFWF's Budget Bomber Build It was close, but I had the horn clocked wrong in those 1st photos. When I get my new horn installed I'll take a closer look & address it as needed. Ended up not liking the swapped in front shocks. Looking at replacing all 4 now.... Does it ever end? |

Was out beating on it again today.. This time had the run ended with some catastrophic failure. Caught a lip and sent the rig flying down a 15/20' drop. Snapped the rear housing. Remind me again why I kept putting off beef tubes, LOL!! Ah well, been meaning to get into the rear axle any ways. Looks like I'll be picking up a few more parts from Eric @ DLUX. He's got those modified ar60 housings that feature a larger pinion bearing, which is a no-brainer at this point. along with an U4 rear truss & beef tubes. Worst part is waiting for the replacement parts! Last edited by F1GHTF1R3W1THF1Re.; 03-18-2016 at 05:54 PM. |

Still happy with your PP 2200kv motor? No want/need for more power/speed?

Sorry, I was AFK for work for a bit there. Back into it now that the weather's seemed to mellow out. Bomber is still broken ATM, I've begun the hunt for an axle shaft & rear housing. Stay tuned for updates!!!

| Re: FFWF's Budget Bomber Build The beauty is, if he does want more, he can just drop in a 4s battery. That's what I recently started running in my crawler Bomber with the Puller Pro 2200. It's nice to be able to dial in performance to the day's adventure just by choosing the appropriate battery. It's so easy that I carry the 3s with me and if the trail tightens up and gets more technical, 2 hood pins and I throw in the 3s battery. Voltage 2 speed. |

This one. Fits the battery tray perfect and lasts an hour and a half or longer for me.

Cool, i'll have to pick 1 up for testing purposes. I'll really be breaking shit then! Haven't posted any photos in awhile. Here she's all twisted up today, showing off for the camera. I went ahead and ordered set of beef tubes for the front axle, along with one of those new extra heavy FI spools to replace the OG FI spool. That will add a bit more weight up front. on top of the winch/winchplate/winch battery I am really starting to get this front end to stay planted on inclines. I have a few other goodies that are in dyer need of attention. Shocks are my weak point at the present. stockers are garbage, and fronts are leaky. Looking into going with some 90mm fronts & 100mm rears. I think these next three upgrades will expand the capabilities of this rig. Stay tuned... Love seeing all these new builds. I wasn't active for a few months and its great to get back into it again.

Back with another update... I made some serious progress today on my HD front stinger. The stock rr10 bumper weighs in at 10 grams. I made mine from 5/16" solid round steel bar. When it was all said and done, mine weighs 115 grams. This isn't including a bit more material I need to add. Not to mention it just looks great! Also some goodies came in the mail today, my shocks! After some research, i decided to go with powerstrokes in all 4 corners. I haven't any shock oil so I wasn't able to take it out for a joy ride but I did take a few pics. Still waiting on the beef tubes/heayweight spool Lemme know how you guys like the bumper! Last edited by F1GHTF1R3W1THF1Re.; 11-08-2016 at 06:39 PM. |
