Just more rpm. Brushless motor torque isn't affected, other than a little more voltage drop in the esc. A certain motor size will be the same motor at practically all kv or turns.

Brushed motors lose torque at higher kv because of brush losses.

I have a Mamba MonsterX and HH Puller Pro 2200kv headed my way. I think it's gonna be a great combo. I love the MonsterX in my YetiXL. I'm wondering about the bullets on the motor and esc. Are they the same or do I need to change my motor bullets???

You'll need 6.5mm bullets installed onto the motor leads to fit the MMX. I now run two MMXs and I payed Holmes to do this for me before they shipped my motors. They keep Castle 6.5mm bullets in stock as well as other sizes.

Just bought a Holmes Hobbies BLE and a Holmes Hobbies puller pro 3500kv stubby motor. both waterproofed. I was running a Holmes Hobbies 13t brushed. But the AE5 was not fond of it at higher speeds on 3s lipo. The extra speed will be great. I am also running the SSD 2 speed. Should crawl like a Billy Goat.

Can I ask how it runs for speed and crawling? I like the idea of a combo system, easier install.

Thanks

I have the Sidewinder 8th 2200kv combo in a DEX8. It cogs so bad at light throttle it sounds broken

Works fine in a basher 8th scale buggy, you couldn't pay me to run it on my Bomber.

woody131, I purchased my bomber used , built and never ran used or very lightly. The castle sidewinder 8 combo was in it and at first i wasn't very optimistic about how it would perform, but i can honestly say that it works excellent. not sure what pinion he has on it but its gearing is good enough that there is little to no cogging down low at all an zero heat issues its not a speed demon but no slouch either but with the 2200 and 3s it has gobs of torque to get up and over pretty well anything. and on Sunday the guys and I ran 4 hrs and i only used my 4000 mah 3s on the run. sure a nice sensored system would be better for super smooth low throttle input and what not and not saying i would have bought this setup for the bomber but i,m not disspointed with its performance at all. and to boot its waterproof( or resistent ) so trail on

Not really any easier to install as long as esc/motor has bullet connectors. Mmp and hh not much more than that combo and will be much better setup.

Sensored and low-gear + high-voltage

But lots of the set ups mentioned are not sensored... I'm considering a Titan 775 motor with low gearing.. Just gotta work out the logistics of the bigger shaft and tap and drill the can.. Any thoughts?

"thumbsup Okay. I got the Holmes Hobbies brushless BLE and 3500Kv installed. As well as the Dlux twin hammers trailing arms. Very impressed, the SSD 2 speed is awesome. This thing is quick in high gear crawls lke a comp crawler in low gear . On a 3s 4500mah stock shocks. No anti sway bar Pitt Bull rock beast tires. I really like the setup.

MMP with Hobbywing Xerun 3656 4-Pole Sensored Brushless Motor (3400kV) and 2 speed on 2s.

Stock gearing for now.

Debating trying 3s or regearing for a little more top speed.
