First real try at this besides the pic earlier.

Today I spent about 3 hours learning this new vinyl cutter and making a few things after I saw something on the fleaBay that caught my eye. I need to enlarge the panel wraps by 1/4-1/2" and roll the excess over. The hood was a PITA and I still need to make it longer. Not a problem as all I have to do it literally click and drag on the image. Actually a sweet little setup and I'm impressed at what it can do.

I used a photo of an A10 , copied the nose art as an outline, then stretched it to fit the panel. The hardest part was getting the little teeth all lined up right. I've got a shark mouth file made, too, but those are played out. Pulled the star from a mallcrawler Jeep pic.

I laid a white down first and put the OD green over it but I need to stretch the hood longer. The OD green doesn't want to stick as well as the white does. Pretty good details in it but I'd imagine it won't last the first crash.

Edit: the font I used to say Bomber looks like a 2nd grader hacked it out using a butter knife. It looked cooler on the computer screen.

Maybe warming the OD green as you smooth it out with a hair dryer or a heat gun set on low?

Great design & colors!

Tried that. I was going to wrap my Wraith #2 months ago when I first got the roll of green but it wouldn't stick then either. So I did it black.

So - it's being applied to what sort of surface - another wrap, matte paint, gloss paint?

Adhesion seems to be lacking, wraps usually stick really well...

What brand is the OD green wrap?

All the vinyl I've got came from fleaBay china. All was billed as "automotive grade". The OD green wrap doesn't really want to stick to anything at all but it's going over a gloss white vinyl. The OD on the side panel went directly to the side panel and it didn't want to stick there. I originally had it all white using the gloss white and it was a PITA to apply because it sticks so well. I've got a roll of matte black from HobbyLobby that adheres well and another roll of matte black from fleaBay coma and it adheres well. It's just the one roll shotty OD green.

I'll be surfing for some different colors later today as well as cooking up another idea...TBA.

Don't the full-size-car-wrap guys use an edge sealer/glue to hold the edges of the vinyl down, particularly where it is folded over the edge of a door or lid?

I've no clue. The white and black stuck without a problem.

Ordered some new tyres for my SSD beadlocks as I cannot get the factory glued RTR tyres off the wheels...

Did you try baking the tires off? 325* in the oven should do the trick. Many videos on the YouTube about it.

I've frozen some before, too. Depends on the tire glue used. Try freezing them for 10-20 minutes and pull them out one at a time and carefully breaking the glue loose before they warm up. But it doesn't always work.

You can try this: https://www.amainhobbies.com/bob-smi...-bsi161/p37080

Put some around the bead on each side of the tire, let it sit for a while then work the tire with your thumbs. Keep applying and working it till the seal breaks. Then flip it over and repeat. Depending how much glue was used, this could be quick or take a day. But it works.

I started with my spare tyre as I don't want to ruin all of them if it goes wrong...
Tried baking, no result.
Tried boiling, no result.

Haven't tried freezing yet, might try that this weekend.
I don't know what glue axial uses, but it just won't come loose...

I have some CA-debonder from my LHS, but it states not to use it on plastics, metal and rubber...... (then what to use it for?)
The wheels I don't really care about, but don't want to destroy the tires.

But got a good deal on a set of 4 new tyres, might sell the RTR wheels or just keep them as emergency spares

My small test sheet of .040" came today. The little machine doesn't have enough ass to cut it through. But it did put a perfectly sized groove that a hobby knife slides right through.

Yes, that was the goal for that venture. I was hoping for a factory looking, die cut, computer controlled type finish.

Started mounting my WertyMade electronics forward plate.
But as the motor wires on my ESC/motor are too short, I first need to order some wires and replace them before continuing

Trying to decide what back spacing to run, swapping around tires/wheels on rims. Every 2.2/1.9 wheel should be SLW compatible! I'm sick of swapping wheels and hubs from one truck to the other.

Still love this truck though. I'm more interested in running it on the indoor clay this year then a dedicated 2wd buggy. ;)

Motor swap.

Realized the Pro4HD 2500kv was too slow for my liking in the SA Bomber and the 3600kv Brood motor was too fast for my SCXII (although jumping it off everything was fun for a while ) so they traded. Adjusted the gearing on the Bomber so I get about 3-4 more MPH on the top end with 27% more gear reduction.

Also, I finally decided to ditch the spare tire and mount.
