New additions...
Barndog panels, including the 'number plate' cage sides.
Converted spare tire mount to an antenna base - shortened about 5/8's to 3/4" so it's tucked in. Got the spare tire weight off the back.
Locked-Up wheels with 'ultra hubs'.
Detailed fuel cell.
Rear taillights - 3mm red LED's (fronts coming).
Gearhead roof rack.
Power is MambaX and HH 3300kv BL. Stock gearing.

Finally I set my wheelbase with VP SLW Wheel Hub 725 (#VPS07115) rear and 475 (#VPS07113) front.

All done with VP currie axles and shafts front and rear, and VP knuckles.

To get more weight on the rear I used VP AR60 Rear axel shafts (#VPS08081), once again I'm amazed about the quality of VP parts, they fit quiet well.
Weight of Axial shafts 0.95 Ib / 27 g VP-Shaftes 1.23Ib / 35 g
Rigs front width: 11.61“/295 mm rear width: 12.32“/313 mm.

On your number panels....what size screws did you use, and how were they mounted? I got a set of those plates, but am having a hard time finding a small enough screw to hold them on. And only place I see to secure them is the corners, and very little plastic to grab onto. Pics?

2mm cap screws - local hardware/industrial supply. Your LHS might have some as well.
There’s a web in each corner - drill a 1/16th pilot hole and screw them in.
I would have preferred hex caps like the cage screws but they didn’t have them that small.
I should find a bulk source and turn Brandon on to them, for the cost involved he should supply them - the 6 were like less than fifty cents.

Thank you Browneye. I was thinking about using the same screws that hold the body panels on...but wasn't sure if they would be the right length. May hit the lhs this weekend after the rush dies down, and, there are several hardware stores on the way as well.

The stock body screws are 2.5 and they’re too short. You want like 2x8mm or so.
The panels very solid once fastened down.

I have since trimmed the lower panel corner to line up with upper - much improved look- it flows now. Ill post some new pics when i get back home - traveling for the holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I think Ace might have those. They have SS screws as small as 1.5. Maybe they will have those HTS black screws too.

Be careful on the road. Staying local. I have a full day tomorrow. Visiting family at lunch, and friends for Dinner. Will take the bomber, my SMT10, and one of my Slashes too. Lots of kids both places, so it will be a lot of fun.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I finilay bought an airbrush and tested my hand at painting. Much easier and messier then I expected.

Got some goodies in the mail and the missing shock parts tree, built the shocks and go to charge my battery to test my electronics and my charger didn't come with a balance adapter board... So halted progress again so close to some play time

Got it dirty and then wet, and then dirty again. 2nd pack through my new rtr. I thought buying one everyone recommended might mean I would be a bit better off but all I keep reading all over is to replace 458374 parts because they fail/suck. Kind of a bummer reading so much breaks on hobby grade rc's that cost quite a pretty penny.

Don't worry, most of us are just trigger happy with upgrades, it's not mandatory.

Personally, I enjoy wrenching and working on the rig as much as driving it so I always keep some upgrades on my bench ready to tinker.

I also know many people who just run until something breaks then quickly replace it to run again.

Find you own balance

For sure will be fixing as breaks and as with my bigger toys on wheels, it gets a better part in its place. Not interested in having a rc car that costs what another motorcycle would have cost. Buuttttttt I found that this thing is very slow for my liking when not doing technical stuff so instead of changing this into something it isn't, I have a short course truck coming for Christmas for 3S fun. I can keep that fairly stock as well and have all the terrain I would want to run on covered and have options instead of just one rig.

IMO the RTR is under-powered - same motor as a scaler crawler. A BL system really livens them up.
I have to chuckle a little cuz I went with the kit so I knew what I had and could pick my electrics. I'm estimating I'm in about eight hundred to a grand now.

It's fast and slow.
