Had a question about the wheel hubs. Not sure what size the ones the wheel came with (guess I could measure them), but they ARE replaceable. The wheel clears everything ok and is not an issue....and wondered what size hubs does everyone use\recommend? Would I be wasting my time going to a 375, 450, 600, etc...? I know it would widen the stance some if I went larger. Is it needed, or just a personal thing?

Wider stance is more stable at speed.
I used VP .475 hubs on both my kit wheels and eBay wheels.

I broke the ears off my stock servo a week or so ago and all the new parts finally showed up yesterday. So today I installed a Vanquish axle truss, Vanquish servo mount, ProModeler DS630BLHV servo with Vanquish servo clamps. The first real bling I've added and I'm stoked! I've been searching for upgrades wondering what to do first, so breaking shit makes that easy. lol

Topped up the front dampers with oil because the front RH one tends to leak. None of the others do.

Last time they were rebuild I used Silicone MS4 grease on the lower seals. Guess the one must have a small nick in it.

I installed new C.I. two stage foams and reused my original tires on these Bomber edition Gear Head wheels from RPP Hobbies.

Cleaned and rebuilt all 6 shocks.
Im not a huge fan of rc4wd shocks, but these king shocks from them have not leaked a drop of oil in 2 years.

Bent a brand new Vanquish vvd v1 stub shaft yesterday. Ordered a new one of those, ordered a VVD rebuild kit just incase.

Decided to replace some of the last of the axial plastic parts on my rig while it is down. Ordered a Hot Racing yeti trans housing, Hot Racing Bomber transfer case housing, Hot racing hardened steel transmission and transfer case gears, and a set of Fast eddy sealed bearings for the trans and transfer case.

Built my HR trans and HR transfer case with HR steel gears and sealed bearings.

I cannot get the bind out of the transmission. Everything is greased, and i have played with the screws by loosening them slightly. Nothing is taking the bind out of this hot garbage transmission.

Im walking away from this thing before i strip the trans out, throw it in the garbage and put the stock trans back in it.

Can you chuck an output into a cordless drill and spin it?

I spent 15 minutes with it chucked in my cordless drill spinning at 2000RPM...not much difference.

I took it back apart and looked at everything, whatever is happening, is happening somewhere inside the trans between the two gears, the two shafts, and the two C-clips in there.

Somewhere something inside the trans is binding.

Im considering sending it off to Grip-Fab so he can open it up and see what is wrong. Possibly fix it in all his machines.

Trans is fixed. Turns out the bottom shaft was bent after my last time out. All is buttery smooth now.

Also threw in some Vanquish brass C-hub inserts, and outfitted the entire rig with Vanquish brass ball ends because I have nothing else to do to it and wanted something to kill some time.

The bomber is pretty much bomb proof at this point. I think the weakest link is the axial ar60 rear axle shafts.

Thinking about picking up a new RC for bashing and going fast.

I've had quite a few bashers over the years and hands down the toughest and most fun rig I've ever had, and is still in the stable is a Stampede 4x4 vxl.
Now granted i did throw a bit of cash at it for necessary upgrades but since then it seems nothing breaks.
I've launched it 30' straight up at the skate park and flat landed, 35 mph cartwheels and more stupid stunts than I can remember.

Not a Traxxas fan boy but that right there is one hell of a good basher.

Yesterday I installed a 68 tooth spur gear and a 9 tooth pinion gear. This change slowed things down but not as much as I was hoping for. It has the stock 35 turn motor I may want to switch over to a 55 turn motor.

What speed controller? 35T in a bomber even with stock gearing seems slow...but maybe you're not getting good control.
My 3300kv blx is as slow as you could possibly need, but still goes fast enough to cart-wheel it. LOL

As browneye said, this is wayyy slow...

My 21T 550 is decent fast and still crawls like a snail

it has the stock speed controler and motor, it was a ready to run vehicle. I,m not looking for top speed at all but will still want enough power to blurp in some crawling situations. I like the slow technical crawling.

35T is literally what a Bomber RTR comes with stock.
