Default Servo Saver or stronger servos

Any options for a servo saver for the U4 guys? This truck is beating them up.

Or any servos that can take a serious beating and keep on working?

Btw, i dont use cheap servos if anyone thought that was my issue. 450oz or more

Thanks for the help.

For the bomber, a 450oz servo is not enought, I have an Hitec servo on my Bomber with 880oz... I have a BEC Castle too.

What servo is that? Your pictures show a 7945TH. That is not a very strong servo. https://www.servocity.com/html/hs-79...l#.VwZR6fkrKl8

450 should be plenty for most running unless you are doing mostly crawling. I personally use a Protek 170t with a clamping horn. So far so good. I've had great luck using the Protek servos in most of my stuff after giving up on Hitec and Savox. What servos are you using that you are having trouble with? Are you end points set correctly?

Strong in oz/in and strong in reliability are different things.

450 in plenty, that isn't your issue. I have been using Savox servos for years, 1230sg is good but the front plastic case can split. 1283 has been going strong for a long time. I'm really hard on parts and I've never had to mess with it.

Kimbrough 124 if you want to go the servo saver route.

U4 in theory you have less stress than crawling, but you gonna get beating very fast.
I'm running the Savox 1270tg(@7.4V 0.11s 487.7oz-in) in my yeti and bomber and is being great, is strong and fast. I might get the aluminum body from the 1283 if this one breaks on the bomber. Is going great in my Yeti for more than a year.

Check out the jr 8711hv. Beast of a servo torque wise and is all metal case with "super steel" gears whatever that really means. I've beat on mine the last 2 years with no issues.

7955 hitec here, no saver, no problems. Got the 7950 in the Yeti. They're strong servos and worth every penny

I destroyed the center gear on my JR 8911hv in a couple battery packs. Replacement gears are $60. I put the $60 towards a Hitec 7950 instead.

I put a 7950 in the front of my Bomber, three packs of hard crawling and it works great. I would've tried the Holmes Hobbies hv500 servo, but it was out of stock when I needed one before my camping trip.

Pretty sure the JR servos still have one plastic or composite gear in there. I shredded the gears in my 7950 on my Wraith. Replaced the gears and it's been good since although I try not to beat on it too hard.

I bought a few different servo savors due to Eepee's recommendation. I have a servo that should last. If it lasts the races on Sunday. I will update.

Thanks for the help.

I don't think you should need a servo saver. If your using a good clamping arm and have a stout servo with end points set correctly it should last for long time. What servo are you using?

HH HV500. All steal gears and plenty of torque. Like i said, U4 racing which means the cars take a beating.

The 3 servo saver I purchased won't turn the wheel properly. They need a much stronger spring.

Any other recommendations? In the meantime, I hope it was just a fluke that I broke one so quickly.

Are you having problems with the servo or the arms? What have you used in the past that failed? I hope you used a good clamping servo arm and not the cheap plastic ones they come with. Not many people use servo savers and their servos seem to last.

You have a pretty strong servo and it should last a while.

Hitec HS-7980TH is what you need ;) but you may have to dremmel the ears to get it to fit a standard size servo mount. But no strength issues as of yet how I have mine.
