Default My RR10 build

Looking for a bit of help. Getting an idea of exactly what I'm wanting to purchase before buying the wrong stuff.

What I'm looking to do:
Mainly trails. Not building for comps by any means. Terrain will be mix of rock, mud, sand, and dirt. Midwest creeks. Loose rocky muddy hills as well. Not at all racing. Wanting about 10mph top speed for tire cleanout and steeper hills. Also wanting better crawl control as I will mostly be moving slow.

My idea so far:
Vanquish rockjock currie axles front and rear.
Vanquish chubs and knuckles
Vanquish HD axle shafts
Ssd driveshafts
Vanquish titanium steering and suspension links
Vanquish servo armor
Method 2.2 wheels
Beef tubes front and rear.
Deuces 2 stage foams
Pitbull rock beast xor tires
Savox 1230 steering servo
Holmes revolver 540 1800 kv motor
Mamba Max pro esc
Axial 2 speed kit

What I'm unsure about:
Gearing
Size bec
Will I have any issues with all of this?
Is this setup good for what I'm wanting?

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

You won't be able to install beef tubes with Curries.

RockBeast XORs will look ridiculous on VP methods so I assume you mean plastic Axial methods. I have that combo with CI foams and they are great.

If you can't catch a revolver in stock then the Puller Pro 540 2100kv is a great motor which I also run.

Go with stock gearing but underdrive the front and rear axles with 43/13 HD gears. That'll reduce torque twist and put you closer to the speed you want.

Wait until you're done with everything else before going 2 speed. You may realize it's pointless.

Just get the 10amp castle BEC for $20.

Hi,
I would buy stainless links instead of titanium for lcg and cost.
Voodoo u4 tires instead pit-bull xor (a good tire but wider rim is recommended).
Nice set of pro-line shocks
Locker
Was a new steering servo on the list?
j.e.c racing trailing arms (bullet proof)
Have fun with this. I'm still building mine, lol

Good idea on the stainless links. Are the jec trailing arms better than vanquish?

And yes on the servo. Savox 1230 unless I find better.

I already have the 2 speed. As for the beef tubes I wasn't for sure, I guess I'll have to get beef patties instead. I haven't thought much in the shock area, the stock kings work fine for right now. I really don't want to swap my tires for Voodoo. Everyone runs them and I'm not any more impressed with them over the xor for my application.

I would skip the servo armor and just get a Savox 1283 or Holmes HV500 to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Servo armor is more just for weight. But I'll look into those servos

I wouldn't say better, vp is good stuff!
J.E.C Racing ta's are stainless steel, recessed ends and some weight down low.
They are unbreakable (lifetime warranty).

I like xors as well : )
I was just told I needed gear head rims (wider) to fill out the tire better.

I might be partially biased as I ran pit bulls on my real rig. But I am fully satisfied with their all around performance. The axial 2.2 I have right now fills them fine. But I'm wanting to ditch the axial weight rings and just get aluminum wheels.

I heard gear head has a nice wider set that fits well. Those are the first tire I bought and they just looked flat and wide with the foams I was recomended. I heard the gear heads resolved that a lot. I just stuffed another foam insert around a set of foams last night to take up more of the tire and will be trying them on my methods. They are super soft and look great for sure, not sure why they weren't more popular.

too add on a little; i personally would skip the beef patties and go with a non rotational knuckle weight like rc bros, or blue monkey. It's better to keep "rotational mass" off the drivetrain. Makes axles/gears/shafts last longer. I initially like you thought I wanted beef patties but the good gents here on RCC steered me in the right direction.

Oh and also, I thought I read somewhere that one of the Vanquish axles accepts beef tubes...right?

Yes but it was VP's version 1 OCP that is no longer being made. V2s are thicker walled and can't fit them but wouldn't need them anyway. Any quality aluminum axle housing will add weight and strength. Beef tubes are more intended to be used on the plastic AR60s. It's a good way to get less expensive strength and weight in the axle.

Their site says only the version 1 housing. Not sure which one that is

You should look into the Currie f9s they're cheaper and looks great under the bomber I had some mounted under my bomber but decided it would be best to throw my Currie rock jocks under my wraith and order a set of f9s! Just my opinion but you have a great list so far

Performance wise they were the same? The rockjock looks like it could take more abuse.

Also, the blue monkey weights look like the way to go. Thanks for the input!

New! Updated my build sheet listing most prices and most parts. Once again any input is greatly appreciated. Anything I may have missed or anything that I don't need or even anything that could be replaced with a better product. Also different places to buy with better pricing. Nothing is ordered yet. Just what I've thought of so far. Some items are out of stock but this will be built over time as stuff becomes available. Thanks!
