Default Bomber/Yeti motor mount ?

They both share the same transmission so I assume Yeti aluminum-machined motor mounts work in the RR10 as well?

Strc, Gpm, vanquish, hot racing and axial all make yeti machined aluminum motor mounts and cam. Does any one of these stand out in Performance and functionality. I'm just looking for a more solid attachment to help alleviate any flexing under torque.

Pretty sure they all work well. Some are better priced. I have strc.

Yes they are the same front half of the transmission. The only difference is the transfer cases. Make sure whichever one you choose actually comes with the motor mount plate. Hot Racing for instance does not. I run the Axial one and it's very nice.

Agreed. Picked up the HR mount with Tower ecash, only to find it did not include the motor plate. The Axial mount is certainly the best looking.

The VP one looks pretty nice too. I bought the STRC one and had to sand down the sides to get it tight enough to hold the included motor mount so it wouldn't spin. .

+1

I have 2 STRC mounts, both have moved on me while driving. They will both be getting filed before they are run again.

2 out of 3 of my STRC mounts move. Something to watch out for.

Not sure if it makes a difference for this application. But the Axial motor mount and motor plate are hard anodized. So the surface will be a little harder than bare aluminum and harder than standard anodized parts. Just something to consider.

Geeze, I guess STRC isn't that good then. Having the mount move on you like that could really cause some damage. I'll edit my first post. I really like my Axial mount. You can pick one up for right at $40 shipped on eBay and mine hasn't budged since the first install and I check my gear mesh often. Maslin, maybe get the VP motor plate next time you make an order? Cool that they offer them separately from the trans mount.

I used the axial version on my bomber. For the same reason listed above the anodizing is slightly stronger.

This scares me... "NOTE: Must use with Vanquish Yeti Motor Plate VPS07991 (Black) or VPS07993 (Silver)."

But for $16 it's on the way Just when I say I don't have that many VP parts I order like 5 more

Interesting hear about the STRC. I never had problems with mine in the Yeti, and a have tons of power there (MMX/540XL).
Was even planning in get the vanquish for the Yeti and move the STRC for the bomber when I get the MMX/540 for it.

My bad, I didn't see that. I'm glad you did. I wonder what is different about the plate that wouldn't let it fit the stock or other clamps. We'll soon find out...

I have the strc one, using with no issues at all. Used on my yeti before I got a bomber.

When you guys mention the motor mount plate; your talking about the "cam" type oval that bolts to the motor or are you talking about a shim plate that also bolts to the motor behind the cam? The stock plastic setup has a motor shim plate then the cam. So it's a 3 piece design. say wanted to order the Vanquish motor mount I'd also need to order a cam and a plate. Correct?

I didn't know there was a shim. Yes, there's a motor mount plate and the cam plate. I didn't use a shim when I bolted up my Holmes brushless motor to the Axial mount. You'll just need the two main pieces. If the motor is too deep or shallow simply turn the pinion around to line up with the spur better.
