Default Spare Tire mod on the cheap.

While I was charging batteries for tomorrow and trying to clean off my mess of a work bench I came across some spare G10 control arms for my 50cc 3dhs slick airplane.

s
Sliced off the plastic hub flush on the stock carrier with and exacto blade. Trimmed the G10 control arm and bolted to stock location. Re-used the stock hub I cut off and screw.

Nice. Bonus "nice" for giving me a use for all my old Intel boxes I just can't throw away.

How did you get the fuel line to stay?

Curious how it holds up to some solid rolls.

Mine is moved forward with 1:1 U joint cap zip tied under the frame rails in front of the stock mount. Drilled a hole through the high spot with a long bolt to hold the wheel.

A screw from the inside of the fuel cell (and through the side of the cage) gives a fuel hose something to push on to

It's for balance as much as scale appearance. Pull the spare off and it nose dives quick in the air. Little bit of throttle keeps the front end up with the extra weight hanging back there

Bomber was designed as a go-fast evolution of the Wraith. There are a ton of concessions made for speed over crawling.

Ah ha. I got it for crawling, speed is not important.I'm going to wait and see what Barndog does, I suggested adding a tire relocator to his fast back body panel. If not I'll hack up something.

My cheap spare tire mod is to cut and flip the stock spare mount and then add an old scx10 mount to the fuel cell, for all you guys wanting scale points it looks like there is still room for a fuel line off the cell
