Default DenisLM's U4 Bomber build

I was bored so I got all the pictures from my "U4 build" (in progress):

Fresh out the box:

All the stock eletronics out and the temporary motor/esc (from Yeti RTR) installed + CC BEC
Also my radio (Spektrum DX4S+SR410) and the servo (Savox SV1270tg) and Axial servo horn, Axial 2 speed (from my Yeti which is only a "go fast" now )

SSD wheels, CI Deuce's Wild foams, Incision links and Axial sway bar:

Full vinyl blackout and action shots from the WARCRC Scale comp (by Justinart24):

New servo (Savox SA1283sg) after break the ears out of the 1270 in the last race...

Axial trailing arm plates and Proline Power Stroke Slash front/rear:

Some track test/tuning:

More goodies in the mail... the weekend will be busy and more pictures to come!

This shocks are excellent for go fast/U4 rigs. I can keep the bomber low and sliding over the turns (and hiting some rocks )

mean looking rig! For the powerstrokes are they just the regular slash front and rears that bolted straight up or did you have to use the universal mounting kit?

You'll have to get the universal hardware kit for the upper shock balls. The kit does come with 4 so you just need one kit for both sets of shocks.

Yes, one universal mount kit does the job.

The only downside of this shocks are the pistons. The shock is so tight even with 10wt oil front and rear.
This weekend I have a race, let's see how it performs.

Drill the pistons out a little bigger if needed, it's common practice in racing.

Nice to see the 90/100 Slash setup out there, I thought I was the only one

Piston Drilling Kit-1.1-1.8mm (8 bits) # CR233 from Schumacher RC Racing.

How's the stock Yeti motor and ESC working out in it? I was planning on doing the same thing one of these days when I eventually get a Bomber or Axial makes a Bomber Kit. I too will take the 2 speed out and keep the Yeti just for speed.

Great idea! Just got a similar tool on Amazon for $9.

and I really like the shocks, still have a great travel but specially because they are not blue!

Is a great combo for a light car like the Bomber, and the 2 speed helps when I do light crawl/trail but still can go fast. You probably will be happy with that if you don't plan in only do crawling. I had it laying in my drawer, so why not?

Monday should arrive my Mamba Monster X and the Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro 540 std
I have the same in my Yeti (MMX+540XL) and can't wait for all that torque...

I've gotta say after seeing Maslin's Bomber and yours running the 90/100 setup, I'm all over that! I've been playing with the 100 setup all around and I just can't seem to get the handling set up the way I want it. Especially since I've gone full on go fast with it, the sc setup seems to be a killer setup for overall handling. Good stuff

yeah, this setup is great. I still need to fix some rubbing of the drive shaft in the chassis because it's running very low. I should get the MIP in the next months, which may need more clearance.

I'm a little worried too if I'll have any rubbing issues. I'm currently running the MIP driveshafts with a centered Currie and thus far haven't noted any issues other than having to flip the male & female shafts originally to clear the spur. I'll hopefully soon be picking up a set of shocks so, I guess I'll find out...

Just take the front shocks out and see where it rubs

I'm already dremeling the corners of the radio box.

Default DenisLM's U4 Bomber build

MMX finally installed. Very tight but fits "ok".
Put 12t pinion (64t spur, hd underdrive front and rear, with Incision spools) tested outside and miss some top speed. Changed to 15t... Was too late to try outside. (Thanks to the annoying Bomber design that need tear the whole truck apart to change a simple pinion... I'm used to the Yeti, which is fantastic simple to work on)
Tried inside the house in low gear and still have plenty of power and low speed control for eventual crawl/trail.
Tomorrow gonna be fun! (But probably I'll drop to 14t pinion, because 15 will be insane fast and impossible to control... And here we go again take all the screws...)

Also another simple little change in the Axial sway bar, using the rod ends with stops to avoid the sway bar tuck in:
