Nitro evader spur gear is much better than the stock ones 32p 56t

Hey snapon, is that a metal or plastic spur? My spur is basically the weakest link but I don't feel like it should be blowing out on me all of a sudden. I'm running MIPs, incision lockers, and from what I understand all the gears that come in the kit are HD gears.

It's a duratrax Nitro evader spur. It's plastic but very strong. I use a Holmes hobbies 13.5 t sensored brushless (old model) set in my 6x6 and it has amazing power and speed on 3s. I use them in all my axial rc's

I'll have to look into that spur gear. Never stripped an axial spur on my basher yeti or my scx10 with the slipper tightened all the way down. I'd imagine it's pretty hard to bend the output shaft on the tranny right?

Since the rigs apart I decided to grab a new motor mount and slipper plates. Pulled the tranny apart and everything looks good, which it should since I just rebuilt it with all new fast eddy bearings and grease. Going to put it back together with another 64t spur I have here and see what happens. Can't find that evader spur in stock @ my lhs unfortunately

I think I found the problem. What do you think? Bent top shaft?

Major wobble in the spur gear. The pics are while rotating the spur

That looks like the culprit...

Is there an HD top shaft available or do I just replace it with the axial one? I'm not even sure how the heck I could've bent it. My yeti has gone through way more abuse and still spins true...

I got the topshaft replaced with another stock one and everything's been running good minus a busted pin in my servo. It was time to throw a little bit more $$ @ Goldmember so I grabbed a V2 sway bar and some new shoes. Loving the hyrax on this thing.

I think the sway bar pic is during mock up with a worn out V1 sway bar but it looks the same. When I had the servo out to fix the pin I noticed the mount was super flexible so I upgraded that.

Would you mind sharing the type of paint and paint pen you used?

I might borrow that idea and do White accent on my build.
Also tire lettering in White just like my car!

I used tamiya paints. The PS series is for lexan and the TS is for plastic. The paint pens I used were sharpie paint pens. They were ok to work with but you might see what else is available in your area. The pens came in a set of 5. Red, black, white, gold, and silver. The white was actually the hardest one to work with but maybe it was just a bad pen.

How do you know what is plastic and what is lexan on the Bomber parts?

I'll check what's available in my local shop and Amazon.ca.

Thx

The body panels are Lexan. The rest is plastic

There are specific paints that bond to Lexan, and others that bond to other plastics. You will notice less adhesion using the wrong one for the type of material you are applying it to.
