| Projekt "G" Build
Here goes my first build thread, "Goldmember." I'm going to be building it with all the kit parts first since I'm about $700 in before opening the box. Going to run HH HV500 servo, HH Puller Pro standard 2700kv, Mamba Monster X. Not a huge fan of gold but since the links are gold I'm going to run with it as my color scheme and see how it comes out. |

The new links are nice. I'll be using the stock ball ends for now. Rod ends threaded silky smooth. If I go bankrupt will you vote for me? |

On to the tranny/transfer case I noticed the gears were off a bit but just needed to flip one over and they aligned perfectly. If I go bankrupt will you vote for me? |

On to the spur/slipper and motor mount. This is where I left it @ midnight. Progress will continue after work today. So far so good. Nothing missing, nothing stripped, no excess plastic in the housings. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself. Been a smooth simple process. If I go bankrupt will you vote for me? |

Did you put the rear ring gear on the right side and the front on the left? They have to match as you look at them installed without the cover on, left left or right right.

Yep. Made sure of that one. Don't need wheels that spin opposite, wouldn't be helpful.lol Wait, where am I? Last edited by shiftauto; 06-24-2016 at 07:53 AM. |

Made more progress on the build last night. Assembled the driveshafts. These will be getting swapped when I decide what length trailing arms I want to use. Less work more play |

To the part I was a bit worried about, building the shocks. Of course this is where I ran into a small issue. While getting all the pieces organized I noticed a discrepancy in the parts tree numbers vs what the instructions showed. After digging through the bags to make sure I was using the right stuff, I came to the conclusion it was just a mislabeling mistake. Less work more play |

Lots of parts for shocks. Took my time assembling and used green slime on the o-rings. Less work more play |

Guess I was worried about nothing. Went together pretty easily and have super smooth movement. Only time will tell if I did a good job with them. One thing I don't like is the fitment of the upper pivot ball. They don't snap in and are really sloppy so I may need to change something with those. Less work more play |

While the air bubbles were rising to the top I decided to do some detailing with a paint pen and give the wheels a coat of paint. Less work more play |
