| XSRCdesign builds a Bomber kit
RPP comes through once again, and I was greeted with this nice package when I got home today. Apparently the bomber kits are out I have a pretty good pile of stuff ready to go, and a few more things showing up ovr the next few days. I'm sure I didn't "need" all this, but to be honest, I had a lot of it sitting here.. So far we have planned; -RR10 Bomber kit (duh) -Holmes BLE / 3500 540 puller pro -Vanquish methods / carterfab wideners (purchased before Vanquish started doing it themselves) I'm not 100% using these wheels, but pretty sure. -Futaba S9177SV servo -SSD front shafts -SSD HD front diff cover -choice of SSD pro cHubs and knuckles or STRC/SSD traditional ones. -STRC motor mount -Crawler Innovations foams In route I have; -UD rear HD gear -Incision SS links (I just cant like that weird axial color) -Incision lockers -SSD rear trailing arms -Futaba 4PX (parting with my 4pk and upgrading) |

I was able to get started tonight, didn't get super far mostly because I had a mild case of OCD set in, and I decided to strip the anodizing off some of my SSD parts. A little oven cleaner and a grey scotch brite and we have this. The incision locker is a pretty nice piece with really tight tolerances (more on that later) OCD hit again and I trimmed the mounting screws. This is about as far as I got, I ended up having to spend a bit with a flat file and some sandpaper to get the shafts fully seated on the short side, even the Axial universal was a tight fit and didn't bottom out all the way. Caution to anyone using this combo, take the time to make sure your shafts fully seat. Otherwise you will bind at the knuckle and cause premature wear or breakage. Hope to make it a bit further tomorrow.. |

Transmission went together well, through in a STRC motor mount I had here for a Yeti I haven't built yet. Using the STRC mount seemed to move the spur cover out enough that I had a minor interference between the spur plate and the gear cover. I made a spacer from stainless tubing and that provided the clearance needed as well as give a better mount for the spur adapter, the spur runs pretty darn straight now. I've seen some wobble with the stock setup in the past. I also threw a bearing on there instead of that plastic spacer. I usually have some extras in the most common sizes laying around, today that was helpful. All buttoned up, and a Holmes 3500kv 540 puller. |

Nice build! Can't wait for your review on puller pro 3500kv. Going to run that motor in my bomber, hoping it will arrive Wednesday?

Did you get HH to waterproof your 3500kv? I ask because the combo page has most all motors available with or without waterproofing- but not the 3500kv for some reason. Wondering if it's just a typo or forgotten? Actually, upon further perusal - all the about 3000kv seem to be missing waterproofing as an option. Hmmm.... |

1/8th inch shaft, starting with a 11t pinion Quote:
That means he's probably out of stock on that item. As far as I know the combos only list product in stock. Check RPP if in a hurry? Or message him, usually stuff restocks quickly. | ||
