you got some nice parts there.. why did you go with two stage instead of single stage foams though? from what i've heard the bomber is a heavy rig when build up

Thanks guys. My plan for this rig is to be more of a crawler/trail truck than a U4/racer, i have my Yeti for that. I did go with the firm outer rings on the two stage foams and i am sticking with the kit tires, but who knows, that may all change with time.

Got to work on the axles today. Incision lockers, vp clamping hexes, and the gears nicely lubed up with udder butter. Man these things are nice, love the 3rd member design!

Links installed, not my favorite job, but they look really good. The stainless steel are considerably heavier than aluminum or titanium, but its low weight and they should take a lot more abuse than the stock aluminum links.

Got the tranny put together today. SSD 2 speed installed with the hinged arm parts from AX31183. For anyone wanting to use these parts with the SSD 2 speed, you will need to also pick up a shoulder screw AX31073 to make it work properly. VP motor mount, axial spur and slipper plates and RR hardened pinion also installed. Everything went together beautifully.

After mounting it all to the skid plate, i have found that the bomber needs a much shorter link to the servo than the yeti did, so i modified one i had down to about 30mm eye to eye.

Stock driveshafts and shocks have been built and installed. I used these blue traxxas o-rings in place of the plastic spacers, this has worked well for me in my yeti and dingo shocks. I also replaced all the lower balls with steel and the upper balls with these silicone bushings.

Really nice build so far..... but I wonder why you are using a non-sensored motor and ESC?

Thanks man. I'm using them simply because i have them, and i know they work quite well with the 2 speed. I will eventually put a Mamba Monster X and Holmes motor in

Well i got the cage put together and bolted on! not fun for the old carpal tunnel syndrome, lol. I was pleased to see that the F9 trusses have the 3rd shock mount position built into them, so i could easily run dual shocks front and rear if i wanted to. The sway bar fits nicely in there on the rear. Up next wheels and tires.

Wheels and tires assembled! Man these things are pretty The foams are a tight fit for these tires but should be perfect once the outer foams are broke in. I drilled out the backside of one of the plastic slw hubs so i could mount the spare to the post on the cage but it is sticking out too far, so i will have to shorten the post. I think i finally have a plan for painting the body so i'll be working on that this week, and the parts should be here this week to get the servo mounted. Hope to have her running by the weekend!
