Default Castle creations sensored 1406 w/ mamba x?

Hey everyone, been lurking on here for quite some time now figured it was time to make a post, I just built my first kit (rr10 bomber) and I got looking into electronics I know I want brushless w/ sensored motor so I was came across the new castle line up. Has anyone tried these yet? Or have any input as to how it would work in the bomber? I'm looking to mainly crawl/trail but also have the option to giver. Waterproof is also important. Thanks in advance

MAMBA X, 25.2V WP ESC AND 1406-4600KV SENSORED COMBO

Skip that motor, 1406 is too small and 4600kv is too high. I would wait for the 1410-3800 to be released in sensored if your looking for that combo.

Better would be a Holmes Puller 3500 or Tekin Pro4 HD with the Mamba X.

Ok thanks for the quick response, i liked the idea of the castle system because I've had nothing but good luck with there products. I had the tekin roc412 (3100kv) also in mind but from my understanding they are not waterproof? As with the pro4 HD I'm not sure is waterproof either.

I have tekin in my scx10 and am very pleased with it.

Holmes has waterproof motors. You could also waterproof a motor yourself too.

I my eyes.

Crawl = Holmes

Bash = Castle

Both = Holmes

I have only run the 1515 2200 sensored motor, good motor, handles heat(load and volts) well, but not anywhere near as smooth as a holmes puller pro.

I have yet to run the ROC line of motors, my LHS doesn't support them.

i just put the castle creations mamba monster x and a castle sensorless motor in (bc of the price over sensored for know) 2200 kv brushless and holy F**!, it has some power and speed. i thought it was going to have to much troque and that was it but i was wrong it has plenty of speed and power. i will switch to the sensored motor in a couple weeks but for now its fun to beat on

I like the the Roc412 3100kv with a mmp. Great combo and you can waterproof them

Skip the Castle sensored motors for a few years. They are unproven. Go Holmes Puller Pro or Tekin ROC412.

I Have a Tekin pro4 hd and mmp in my bomber waterproofed by Ninja Turtle. Plenty of power and not worried about getting wet.

Alright awesome thanks a lot for the info guys, I will have to look up "how to's" regarding making these motors waterproof. I noticed on the Holmes site they offer a puller pro waterproof in a 2200kv. What are your guys thoughts on a lower kv like that?

They are a great choice, run on 3S LiPo for crawling and 4S for bashing/speed.

Waterproofing on your own can void the warranty. I suggest getting the Holmes waterproof motor if you're worried about that.

I love the 2200kV ROC412 in my Bomber. It will be too slow for the fast guys, but if you're crawling it's great.

That's a whole lot of motor for the bomber. Bombers aren't the best over 20mph...

I'm running a 3800kv on 3s on it now for what we're doing its awesome but I'd also like to crawl with it too I have a buddy with a pro4hd on one and it does good but I'd like to keep the heat down and still have speed

The 3800 in sensored will be delivering in January according to Castle. If not the Holmes Puller Pro in 3500kv is what I run.
