| RR10 bomber U4 build
I am doing a build that I saw on YouTube called the bomber budget build by HarleyDesigns. Since I am in high school and work part time, I thought it would be a good idea. I decided not to go IFS in the front or sway bars because in my opinion, they both limit articulation and full torque to the wheels. Please comment about what I should do first since I am skipping the first step which is the sway bars and stay tuned!!!!!!

Articulation is overrated. The sway bar helps get the torque to the wheels. Without it your torque is transferred into twist.

If this is actually a U4 build then you absolutely NEED the sway bars! I would not be doing the IFS unless you want to try to keep up with Yetis and would stick to a 2.2 SA or Comp Pro type class. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yup, sway bar. I use them for crawling too, tune them right and they allow just enough flex but still keep that back end in check.

ok, alright I guess I'll bite the bullet. Thanks guys for the quick reply. This rig I want to turn into fast, desert bulletproof rig that can survive my driving(I drive them pretty hard). Didnt't think about the whole sway bars= more power to the tires and less torque twist, totally slipped my mind. I'll post up pics but i don't know how to upload pics from an ipad. Any ideas???

If I were building another bomber Kit. I'd forgo all axial rod ends/ plastic balls, go right to revo's... I'd add ~2-3mm to the rear upper links immediately. I'd skip installing stock foams, and go to CI DW's. I'd install the shortest rod ends possible on the shocks, and add 3mm of fuel tubing internally to limit shock travel, and invest as much as I could into a good servo.

And uploading pics from an iPad doesn't work!!!!!! it doesn't have a URL and plus how do you do it so the picture is on there and everyone sees it and doesn't have to click on the image to see it????????

Download tapatalk and search for rccrawler. Sign in there and you can search the forum and add threads to be followed etc.

Based on your limited budget, the first things I would do are: 1) Install sway bar. 2) Install Crawler Innovations Foams (Dueces Wild or Double D Medium Front , Firm Rear) These are probably the cheapest upgrades right off the bat. Also, you'll notice immediate improvement. As mentioned before, the sway bar will reduce the torque twist. The foams will greatly help in lateral grip/roll reduction while cornering. The stock foams allow the tire to roll under and flip the car. The design of the CI foams gives you an inner ring that reduces roll under while still allowing the face of the tire to conform around rocks etc. |

Yes sir i was definately going to get a sway bar but wasn't going the tire, wheel, foam upgrades because i liked the tires but I"ll also do it because what you said about the aftermarket foams makes sense.

Tires are fine for many conditions. Foams are crap, get C.I. foams ASAP!
