| Rough Winding Noise
I'm getting this noise from the Robinson spur and axial steel pinion when throttle runs between 20-50%. It's normal steel gear noise at all other ranges on the throttle. This rug is used but new to me and everything is in great shape (tore it down). I've adjusted the mesh 2x but still the same. It doesn't effect performance and there is never a slip or real grinding noise. My only thought is that the 550 motor is causing some movement with the stock plastic motor mount. I've ordered an aluminum motor mount and replace when it comes. I'll try to get a bid later with the sound but if anyone has any thoughts it would be much appreciated. Thanks! I suspect it's the axial pinion. I run the RR setup and have gotten some "hard" but not "Extra hard" as RR specifies. I just hate 13.00 pinions. Hang up and Drive |

Ok, so wait until it strips or sick it up and get an RR pinion now? Thanks for the advice. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk |

It probably will last, just get noisier, I ran across that by using the right teeth, but not hardness. It did hook eventually, but was quite noisy Hang up and Drive |

Yeh makes you think something is wrong, just weird the way it gets louder at that middle throttle point. I'll get a quick vid up later in the hopes for a confirmed diagnoses Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk |

Do you have another pinion ? Harmonics play a small roll , odd it's just in one range, unless it's the slipper loose. I run mine 90% tight Hang up and Drive |

| Re: Rough Winding Noise Thanks, just didn't happen with my other 2 Robinson slippers on a wraith and yeti. Can't recall if both are Robinson pinions though, I know 1 definitely is. I appreciate all the help! Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk |

Robinson has two different hard and extra hard $6. Vs $13. Here a shot, "absolute" is the cheaper Second shot shows the edge differences I tried to find a smaller pair, all I had was 1 each 11,12,14,15 ( dupes are in trucks) Hang up and Drive |

I have to take a closer look at mine, doesn't look like the extra hard is in my other rides, just the absolute. Might take one of those pinions out and stick it in the bomber to give it a go this weekend. I'll let you know if that was the issue. I couldn't ask for better help, tx again! So an update: I got an aluminum motor mount (went with STRC for price - have HR on yetis) and after changing it the extra high winding/vibrating noise went away. I believe the 550 motor was possibly vibrating the motor mount a tiny bit which caused the sound. Anyways it's cured! Overall it will probably sound better with a matching RR steel pinion but for now the axial will do. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk |
