Stripped stock servo, put in a servo from hpi savage just to keep it going. Stripped before I received the replacement gear for stock one. Ran the stock servo with ALL metal gears for a while, upgraded the steering linkage to SSD links and put in savox sw-0231 not even 2 battery packs(3000mah) in stripped... putting the stock servo back in for the time being, but starting to think that it's time is short. What is everyone best recommendation for a servo than is tougher than what the bomber can dish out.

I use a Savox SA-1230. Seems to hold up pretty good. I also drive like I have some sense (not saying that you don't). I feel your driving style has a lot to do with servo life in the Bomber considering the servo's location and lack of a servo saver.

The Savox 1283 is the only servo I have found with a different pin/gear setup. Every other servo out there, meaning all brands, are set up the same. 3 pins in a row, gears stacked up. They all strip the first tiny tiny gear, bend the center pin, or crack the front cover in half.

The 1283 will rip ears off if not properly supported. One piece VP mount flipped backward and nice big washers have completely eliminated my servo issues.

I have not had the remote in my hand for any of the servo failures, I have 2 kids (5yrs and 8yrs) and nephews (also 5 and 8 ). I just looking for a bulletproof servo. I like running my scx10II and have the bomber as a second rig/loaner.

Im putting a HH shv500 in my build, as soon as I finish the wiring Ill test it out and let you know how it goes. Im hoping its pretty durable cosidering the price point.

Hitec 7955TG here in a Wraith. Broken 2 servo horns, a couple link ends, etc - servo still going strong. :)

I've run the Savox , HiTec, Holmes, all have numerous reviews of failure.
So I say look at the ProModeler 470.
Find any failures please.

I use the Tower Hobbies - TS-170 in my monster trucks. It is simply a rebranded Hitec 7955TG. I haven't had any issues with it.

I have an RC Gear Shop servo in my Bomber. I haven't had any issues, but I haven't ran my Bomber more than a handful of times. I do drive it like a basher though.

I couldn't find a single bad review on the Big "awesome" BlueBird, it broke in 5 minutes :roll:

It's still sitting on my box, a $100 piece of anodized garbage.

The small time servo guys aren't putting out the numbers for bad reviews to show up. I don't care how it feels on your large scale tail rudder at 35,000 feet.

Edit: Not you specifically :lmao: Airplane RC must be a much larger hobby than crawler RC.

I have the HV500 and Protek 370TBL in mine. Both have held up so far.

I read right here about the good, bad, ugly BlueBirds.
I've really looked at all the complaints, you dont see them with the PM.
Its a design thing, constant revisions. I run all of the above, by far the PM stands out. Competition for it is the Savox 2290
but it is $150.00 and a great servo!

The first 2 servo failures were with plastic links and aluminum servo horn. The savox had the disadvantage of ssd titanium steering links. I couldn't stand the plastic setup flipping around and never going back to center.

I've busted and torn up some TrackStars, a few HiTecs, and three Holmes HV500s.

I run three Savox 1230s and have broken zero. I DO NOT treat them nicely... :flipoff:

I'm basically death on servos, and I stand by my Promodelers. The oldest is almost celebrating its second birthday in a Bomber with solid links and a Robitronics horn. As I've been killing my Hitecs, I've been replacing them with Promodelers. Up to 5 now and they are all flawless.

Try a jx 5932 it's strong and fast and cheep. Sounds like even the most expensive of servos will still break. Might as well be a 30$ one instead of a 100$+ one.

It's a sub-300oz servo, it will not perform like the high end ones at 500oz
