Re: Bomber built in oz! Very good start! What's your intended purpose for the Bomber? Crawling, go-fast, or both? I'd suggest the following for a dual-purpose Bomber. ESC: Castle Mamba X Motor: Tekin ROC412 3100kV. For faster speeds you can go with the Holmes Puller Pro 3500kv. |

Re: Bomber built in oz! Watch out for your rear axle truss smashing the snot out of your sway bar & bending it with it that way round. |

Yeah I actually got a set of 4 brand new Axial Icon shocks shafts from the 90mm long shocks, the stock shafts are 59.5mm & the 90mm shock shafts are 53.5mm long so it shortened the extended length down 6mm, after fitting the "custom" shorter shocks I noticed the lack of clearance at the sway bar so I have fitted it back the other way now |
Re: Bomber built in oz! I like the murdered out look! I think you're going to want to upgrade tires and wheels at some point. The Axial tires suck IMHO. And if you beat your truck you will kill the Axial shocks. |

Might have to upgrade the shocks later on then if they self destruct I am aiming to make it as light as possible & you might even notice I have removed the fake plastic reservoir crap & other bits n pieces that are not needed There seems to be a huge "scale look" following in the Axial scene where people just pile on a heap of parts for looks & while it does look pretty & probably doesnt really matter on a crawler it goes against everything that makes just about anything with wheels fast.....weight reduction! All of mine & my sons RC cars will be anti "scale look" so unfortunately they might be as nice to look at to some people, performance outweighs looks for me so I will be doing quite a bit of weight reduction here & there wherever possible |
Re: Bomber built in oz! Weight reduction is cool but don't forget the Bomber is front heavy with the battery and servo + the motor is mounted high up. The "useless" scale bits can help with weight distribution. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

If you're going for light the stock wheels should work fine. I just personally hate mounting them. The scale look is all the rage right now. Some people are all about it. Some people put performance first. And others, like me, like a little bit of both. |

Yes thats the exact reason I am running the stock tires for now, want to keep overall weight & rolling weight to a minimum I want to keep the size of the tire down to stock or even lower to keep the center of gravity low, I have the ripsaw tires for crawling if need be I am aiming to see how fast I can make it go round a track for now even though it is meant to be a crawler I know, not looking for just straight line speed thats easy, challenge is to make it handle corners & just too IFS conversion might be what I am looking for later on, by rights it should be faster than the Yeti Score TT possibly without a big body hanging off it I have an Axial Score Trophy Truck kit as a chrissy present for my son so we can build it together, will be interesting to build that also & maybe get a few more ideas for the bomber too |

Finally got a bit of time to get some more done, with the sway bar flipped back around the correct way I noticed where it hits the cage, looking at my sons RTR with the Axial sway bar fitted you can clearly see the sway bar to diff links are much shorter I think its a bit overkill to use the huge 4mm thread links that Vanquish supply so I got hold of some 3mm x 25mm titanium turnbuckles , nice & lightweight, strong & very reasonably priced, 3 Racing part number 3RAC-TR325 Wasnt too hard to find some 3mm ends laying round, plenty spares from the lower shocks I popped the Vanquish sway bar link steel balls into the stock Axial shock ends & it makes for a nice simple fix I will get some more pics soon when some progress can be seen, waiting on some more goodies to arrive!!! https://i.imgur.com/woV6Nnn.jpg?1 |

Thought I would update some progress in here finally, hope nobody was holding their breathe waiting Transmission conversion was completed via a Holmes TorqueMaster Extended Axial Transmission Outdrive set & a Billet Works Designs FOFF motor plate Also have a billet transmission case waiting to build & a Hot Racing lightweight gear set on the way https://i.imgur.com/LGirSGi.jpg?2 |
