Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber I was considering the castle 2850kv as well...seeing as you can get it with the mabma x esc for just over $200 I feel its a pretty reasonable price. I plan to do a mixture of rock crawling and bashing with mine so I think this would be a good compromise. I've also been looking at the tekin pro4 hd 3000kv motor as I see its got great reviews, but its also double the price of the castle motor. any of you experienced guys care to chime in on that? edit: ill be running on 3s with an otherwise stock bomber. |
Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber I want to turn my bomber into a formula off road with padle tires.I have 3s batteries.Which motor is a better choice?A bigger 4068 2650kv or a 3660 3800kv?I will run 3s.I want the fastest I can get but I don't want problems with overheating. |
Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber I'm running a mamba x with 2200kv 1515 Castle motor on 4s, way more fun than the Castle SCT 3800kv on 2s. |

Otherwise there is the puller pro R 4100kv on 3s that is designed for races Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |
Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber I was wondering a 3674 2650kv motor would be faster than a 3660 3800kv on 3s with suitable gearing? Στλθηκε απ το PRO 6 Plus μου χρησιμοποιντας Tapatalk |
Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber Holmes 3500xl on 3s. After breaking the front and rear axle housings in 2 days. The 3500 came out. The 2.2 Showdowns also came off. I would stay around 2500-2800kv. |
Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber 2700kv on 3s is a sweet spot for the bomber IMO. I would still personally run the 3500 because I like excess wheelspeed. Or the 2700 on 4s. |
Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber I went with the Holmes PP 3500 in my bomber kit this spring and am super happy with it!! I'm running just 2s now, I have no 3s yet. Man it's fast and can crawl very well too, IMO. |

The 1515 slid right in, no fitment issues like when I had it in my Yeti. It is heavy though..... |

Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber 1410-3800kv with 3S-45C seems to run well. With the throttle curve programmed in the Mamba Monster it crawls nicely well and bashes pretty fun (current setup hits 19.5mph) With a small 2S-30C pack it goes good at crawler speeds and still runs a long time. Not quite as fast at the top end though. My drivetrain: Castle Mamba Monster X ESC Castle 1410 3800Kv Sensored Brushless Motor HotRacing Steel Pinion 32P 16T HotRacing Steel Spur Gear 32P 68T Axial 2-speed Transmission with Hi-Speed Option |

You put a Wraith transmission in it? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

Stock transmission with the Axial 2-speed kit. |
Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber I'm running a Mamba X and Tekn 412HD with 11 tooth pinion on 3S and it's more then I could hope for. |

Re: Brushless kv choice for Bomber Sensored is better for most applications unless you go for the Holmes Revolver outrunner motors - they make a lot of ESC noise, Holmes is making an ESC that quiets them down. Mine is pretty heavy because of a lot of thick stainless links and is running a Revolver 1800kv and a Mamba X, and I switch between 3S and 4S use. Works great, I don't mind the noise, but eventually I'll upgrade to the newer ESC technology for the sake of others around me! |
